It is a full slate of MLB action on Sunday, April 9th including the Yankees at The Orioles on MLB Network and the Padres at the Braves on ESPN. All of the action except the game between San Diego and Atlanta is in the day. We’ll focus on three main picks for our MLB parlay and two picks for an MLB totals parlay. The totals parlay just happens to be focused on the two nationally televised games. Let’s look at Sunday, April 9th MLB Parlay picks.

Sunday MLB Parlay Picks
Seattle Mariners
The pitching matchup on Sunday should have George Kirby going for the Mariners, while the Indians send Zach Plesac. Neither one did very well in their first start but I have more confidence in Kirby bouncing back than I do in Plesac. Something is simply wrong with Plesac and it goes back to last season. I don’t know if he is hurt or if simply his mechanics are all messed up, but he is not the same pitcher he used to be. Kirby is one of the future stars for Seattle and I expect a strong bounce back effort from him on Sunday. I’ll take the Mariners.
Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers are off to a strong start this season and they have a stud pitcher in Freddy Peralta taking the hill on Sunday against the Cardinals. Peralta was excellent in his first start and he should do well again in this one against the Cardinals. He has had some bad luck against them in the past, but in his eight starts the Cardinals are only hitting .171 against him. Woodford didn’t pitch well in his first start and I don’t think he will have much success in this one on the road. I’ll take the Brewers.
San Francisco Giants
The Royals and Giants are not good teams but I think there is a definite difference in starting pitchers on Sunday. The Royals continue to try out Kris Bubic as a starting pitcher and I am not sold. He was fortunate last time out when he gave up 7 hits in five innings but just two runs. I have more faith in Anthony DeSclafani who gave up three hits and no runs in six innings last time out against the White Sox. I’ll take the Giants.
MLB Totals Parlay
Yankees-Orioles Over
The Yankees are scheduled to send Domingo German to the mound, while the Orioles are undecided. Baltimore is scoring a lot of runs and German did not pitch well in his first outing. The Yankees are capable of scoring a lot of runs no matter who the Orioles throw, so it really doesn’t matter. This one should see a lot of runs, so we’ll go over the total with the Yankees and Orioles.
Padres-Braves Over
The ESPN game has the Padres taking on the Braves on Sunday. The pitching matchup doesn’t appear that appealing with Seth Lugo going against Dylan Dodd. The Padres are giving Lugo another start and he did pitch well last time out against the Rockies in a 3-1 win. I don’t know that I put much faith in that outing, as the Rockies are not nearly as potent on the road as they are at home. Dodd pitched well in his first start, as he went into St. Louis and allowed just six hits and one run in five innings. I think a letdown is only natural for Dodd so he could struggle in this one against a potent San Diego lineup. I’ll go over the total.
