UFC Fight Night 109 Main Event Odds: Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Teixeira

UFC Fight Night 109 Odds Gustafsson vs. Teixeira takes place on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Stockholm Sweden. The card starts 1 p.m. ET and airs on FS1. Swedish native Alexander Gustafsson will meet knockout artist Glover Teixeira in the main event.

The last time Alexander Gustafsson fought in his native country, the Swedish contender was brutalized by Anthony Johnson - a humiliating defeat in front of a frenzied crowd filled with friends and family. “The Mauler” will get a chance to ease some of the sting when he returns to Stockholm to face another knockout artist, Glover Teixeira.

The contender matchup headlines what’s shaping up to be a solid UFC Fight Night card. Fellow Swedes Magnus Cedenblad and Jack Hermansson will join Gustafsson in defending home court, and a few other skilled Euros have been tabbed to fight as well.

Alexander Gustafsson is just 2-3 in his past five, but those losses came against the former champ, the current champ, and the No. 1 contender. Both title bids were close decisions that could have gone either way. Make no mistake about it: Gustafsson is one of the world’s best at 205.

But Teixeira is a guy that can give him problems. While not as powerful a puncher as Anthony Johnson, the Brazilian is still a guy defined by his ability to put dudes to sleep. Gustafsson will need to stay on his toes and utilize every ounce of his crisp boxing skills to avoid the knockout blow.

UFC Fight Night 109 Undercard

Light Heavyweight - Volkan Oezdemir vs. Misha Cirkunov

Volkan Oezdemir made his UFC debut on short notice to upset Ovince St. Preux. Now, he’s ranked No. 7. Talk about making a good first impression. But he’s got his work cut out for him against Misha Cirkunov, who is generally regarded as one of the UFC’s better prospects at 205.

UFC Fight Night 109 Odds: Oezdemir vs. Cirkunov Predictions

The light heavyweight division will be paying close attention to this Sunday’s matchup between Volkan Oezdemir and Misha Cirkunov. Believe it or not, they are ranked No. 5 and No. 7, respectively, and in a thin weight class the winner of the matchup will have announced his status as a contender.

So while neither fighter is exactly well-known by MMA fans, one of them is poised to become an important player at 205 pounds. The stakes here are high, even though the buzz might not be. Continue...

Middleweight - Magnus Cedenblad vs. Chris Camozzi

Cedenblad vs. Camozzi should be a fun fight as both men can put on a high pace. The crowd should be fired up to see Cedenblad win, and he’ll get a chance to improve a solid 4-2 UFC record. Camozzi will be looking to avoid a third straight loss - something that could lead to the UFC letting him go.

Heavyweight - Christian Colombo vs. Damian Grabowski

The heavyweight tilt between Christian Colombo and Damian Grabowski is your typical striker vs. grappler matchup This one could get a little sloppy as both men aren’t really in the best fight shape. Grabowski will need to get this one to the ground quickly as Colombo has six KOs in eight career wins.

Middleweight - Jack Hermansson vs. Alex Nicholson

Middleweight Alex Nicholson is 6’4”, which is tall for middleweight, but he hasn’t looked special in the octagon, going just 1-2. However, Jack Hermansson is a good matchup for him, as he prefers to strike as well. Expect a solid kickboxing matchup here.

UFC Fight Night 109: Jack Hermansson vs. Alex Nicholson Prediction

Jack Hermansson is a slight favorite against Alex Nicholson at UFC Fight Night 109 on Sunday in Sweden. Hermansson is 14-3 in his career, while Nicholson is 7-3. This fight is one of four on the FS1 portion of the preliminary card, leading up to the six-fight main card, which features Alexander Gustafsson taking on Glover Teixeira. Let’s look at Hermansson vs. Nicholson and UFC picks. Continue...
