When: June 4, 2016
Where: The Forum - Los Angeles, California
Why: Middleweight Title
Broadcast: PPV, Fox Sports 1, UFC Fight Pass
Michael Bisping (29-7-0) will challenge Luke Rockhold (15-2-0) for the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 199 on June 4th card at The Forum in Inglewood. This will be the second time these two combatants square off. In their first contest, Rockhold defeated Bisping via second-round submission in 2014. Since then, Bisping has won his last three fights (by decision), making him the fourth-ranked UFC fighter in the UFC middleweight division.
In the UFC 199 co-main event, MMA bettors will witness a trilogy UFC bout between Dominick Cruz, as he defends his bantamweight title against bitter rival Urijah Faber. This rubber match has seen Faber beat Cruz at 145 in the WEC in 2007, Cruz beat Faber at 135 in the UFC 2011, and now we'll see these two men battle it out (presumably) one last time.
Rockhold (15-2) has won five in a row, including victories over Lyoto Machida and Michael Bisping. Rockhold, 31, might have faced Yoel Romero next, but Romero has been provisionally suspended by USADA for a potential violation of the UFC's anti-doping policy.
Bisping (28-7) has never earned a title shot in the UFC before now after nine years in the organization, many of them near the top of the middleweight division. The British MMA pioneer has won three straight and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Anderson Silva in January.
