Bet Texas Bowl Football PicksVenue: AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl

When: Wednesday, December 28, 2016 - 9:00pm ET / ESPN

Location: NRG Stadium - Houston, Texas

Who: Texas A&M Aggies Vs. Kansas State Wildcats

At the outset of the season, had you told Texas A&M Aggies fans that their team would be playing in the Texas Bowl, they probably would have been relatively neutral to the idea. Most knew that Texas A&M wasn't beating out Alabama in the SEC West, and the fact of the matter is that 8-4 isn't a bad finishing record. But for a team that was 7-1 and ranked No. 4 in the College Football Playof rankings in November to ultimately lose three of its last four games, barely hanging on to a spot in the Top 25 as a result and having to play against a team that it used to share the Big XII with, the Kansas State Wildcats in a bowl game with this little prestige, that has to sting, and it's why Kevin Sumlin knows that he has to start delivering better in College Station if he wants to keep his job for the long haul.

But let's give some credit to Kansas State, too. This is a team that is seemingly overmatched on a week in, week out basis on the field in terms of talent. The team ranked No. 118 in the nation in passing and was No. 112 against the pass on the other side of the ball. Yet, playing against a schedule that included 10 power conference teams, the Wildcats finished 8-4 and ultimately are here in the same bowl game as Texas A&M.
