No sport has command of one day like American Football has on Sunday. The NFL and Sunday are synonymous with each other throughout the fall months and into winter. It’s a day football fans relish and eagerly await all week long.
Sunday also offers fans a coup of betting opportunities with the vast majority of teams suiting up on that day from September to January.
Of course, with so many games, it’s hard to keep up with the NFL betting odds, injuries and trends you need to know to build that bankroll, but that’s were Gamblers Palace comes in keeping you up to date with all the information you need to know from the first kickoff to the last play on Sunday night.
The best game of the week is typically showcased on Sunday Night Football, which is why the program has become one of the most watched in NFL history. The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) has aired a primetime game on Sunday night since 2006 and has boasted marquee matchups nearly every week, bringing the weekend of NFL football to close in exciting fashion. To make sure football fans are treated to the best games on Sundaynight, the NFL offers flexible scheduling for the featured matchup, guaranteeing the top teams compete every week and a great opportunity to earn that last bit of extra cash in the day’s NFL betting action.
The Pittsburgh Steelers look to be back in a groove and that’s bad news for the rest of the AFC. They dominated division rival Cincinnati on Sunday, winning their second straight since an embarrassing loss to Jacksonville that prompted Ben Roethlisberger to say maybe he didn’t have it any longer. The offense is still a work in progress and Martavis Bryant continues to say he wants to catch passes somewhere else, but through it all the Steelers have built a comfortable lead in the AFC North. They’ll head out of their conference for a Sunday night tilt with the Detroit Lions in Week 8.
Bryant’s displeasure is about the only thing that’s gone wrong for the offense over the past two games. With Le’Veon Bell doing the heavy-lifting, Big Ben hasn’t been tossing the ball around the yard and that limits opportunities with Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Bell all options on the receiving end. Bell had his second straight game and third in the last four with over 30 carries and more than 130 yards rushing. Ben completed only 14 passes with two going for scores and one caught by Bryant.
While the talk continues to surround the offense in Pittsburgh, the defense came up with a gem, holding the Bengals to 179 total yards, intercepting two Andy Dalton passes and sacking him four times. That’s disturbing for the Lions, who entered their bye with a hobbled offense and look to come back with an inspired effort. The off-week came at a good time for the Lions, who had Matthew Stafford limping, Golden Tate’s arm in a sling and two members of the offensive line on the shelf. Stafford turned the ball over five times against the Saints and needs to be better at protecting the football. But the line has to be able to protect its quarterback if the wins are to follow. Despite two straight losses, the NFC North opened up with Aaron Rodgers sidelined and the Lions are still in the middle of the race.
