Introduced to the viewing public the year of the NFL-AFL merger, Monday Night Football has been a staple of the league’s schedule for nearly half a century. The program was one of the longest running on network television until ESPN took over airing MNF in 2006. The Dallas Cowboys look to rebound from a stunning loss last week and will help the Arizona Cardinals open their home schedule in Week 3 of Monday Night Football.
The Cowboys had their bubble burst last week and will get an extra day to simmer over a humbling 42-17 loss to the Broncos. The Boys’ boys had their problems against the Denver defense and as a result Dallas suffered a defeat that brought them back to the pack in the NFC. The play of Ezekiel Elliott oftentimes helped that of Dak Prescott. When the former doesn’t work, the latter suffers. Elliott totaled just eight yards on nine carries and with the lack of a run game, Prescott was forced to put the ball in the air.
He did, a career-high 50 times with 20 completions, but they resulted in just 238 yards. Prescott also tossed a pair of interceptions for only the second time and had one returned 103 yards for a touchdown. It was the kind of game the Cowboys need to flush and move on. But there are lasting implications. And more alarming than the offense misfiring was the play of the defense, which allowed Trevor Siemian to throw four touchdown passes.
The Cardinals play at home for the first time this season after splitting their first two games. The loss of David Johnson has slowed the offense and the team struggled against the Colts, producing just 16 points in an overtime victory. And it took a fourth quarter comeback to get the win. Carson Palmer has looked like an aging quarterback, but he should feel better knowing that Siemian just chewed up the Cowboys secondary and his Cardinals have won four straight over Dallas.
The final game of the week continues to attract viewers in droves as fantasy football players pray big weeks from their remaining players get them over the top while bettors look to get that extra payout to close out the week with a win.
Gamblers Palace is here to help you accomplish that latter goal. With the NFL Odds, spreads and injury information to give you the upper hand, allowing you to secure that last little bit of extra cash for the NFL betting weekend.
Last year, bettors that banked on the underdogs on Monday were very successful. For those betting on the totals, the under dominated early in the season before the over made a bit of a run at the end.

Preview: The Dallas Cowboys will take the field a very humbled squad after getting dominated by the Denver Broncos in their first road tilt of the season. On the flipside, the Arizona Cardinals return home for the first time this season pumped about the overtime win they managed to squeeze out in Indianapolis. We’re yet to truly get a feel for what these teams are all about, so this Week 3 concluder on Monday Night Football should be extremely telling. Continue...

The broadcast team for ESPN’s Monday Night Football remains mostly the same outside of the addition of Sean McDonough, who’ll be taking over Mike Tirico’s position in the booth.
Alongside McDonough, the broadcast team includes: Chris Berman, Trent Dilfer and Jon Gruden in the booth with Lindsay Czarniak and Lisa Salters on the sidelines.
The San Francisco 49ers have the most Monday Night Football wins of any team, winning their 47th such game with a 20-3 victory over Minnesota last September. Dallas is second with 44 wins. The two teams, however, have winning percentages of .642 and .579 all-time on Monday. Both are good, but neither quite as strong as the Seahawks who, at 22-8, have the best winning percentage at .733.
The 49ers will get a chance to inch closer to that percentage and add to their leading total in the season’s opening week as they close out the Week 1 schedule with a showdown against the newly-relocated Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams are one of 14 different teams sub-.500 on Monday night, but they’re nowhere near as bad as the Falcons. Atlanta’s had a tough go on Monday Night Football. They did beat the Eagles, covering the spread in the process on September 14, 2015, and have now covered the spread in three straight Monday night games.
