Money line | How to bet 101

A Money line bet simply requires that you pick the winner of the game or event. The odds are determined based on the perceived abilities between the matchups of teams or players.

The favorite is usually easily recognizable by a (-) number which also indicates the amount you would need to bet in order to win $100.

The underdog will usually have a (+) number and indicates the amount of money you stand to win from a $100 bet.

As an example

Eagles -232, Giants +199

If you bet on the Eagles -232 for $232 and they win the game, you will win $232 plus the $100 that you wagered.

If you bet on the Giants +199 for $100 and they win the game, you will win $199 plus the $100 that you wagered.
