Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Now that the NBA has reached the Conference Finals things are really starting to heat up. In the West the Phoenix Suns eliminated the Denver Nuggets in 4 games in the Semifinals in order to secure a spot against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Conference Finals. The Jazz put up a good fight but the Clippers were able to take them out in game 6 at home. The Suns and Clippers make for an exciting and well balanced matchup and this series could come out in the hands of either team.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns finished in 2nd place in the Western Conference with a record of 51-21. They accumulated a record at home of 27-9 whereas on the road they were 24-12 and scored an average of 115.3 points per game while giving up 109.5 points per game to opponents.
Leading the stats for the Suns are Devin Booker with 29 ppg, Deandre Ayton with 10.5 rpg and Chris Paul with 8.7 apg. As of Monday June 21, Chris Paul was added to the injured list and considered “out” for game 2 against the Clippers which should put a lot of stress on rest of the team.
Los Angeles Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers regular season ended with a record of 47-25. Their record at home was 26-10 and they had a record of 21-15 while playing on the road. The Clippers averaged 114.0 points per game and allowed their opponents an average of 107.8 points per game.
The Clippers season leaders consist of Kawhi Leonard with 30.4 ppg, Paul George with 8.9 rpg and 5.3 apg. The Clippers are also short a critical part of their front line with Kawhi Leonard “out” with a knee injury for game 2. The absence of Leonard just might be enough to allow the Clippers the room they need to advance so hopefully Leonard is back on the court soon.
