Nowadays, being a top wide receiver is worth more to a team than being a top running back or even a star defensive player. Quarterbacks are the cornerstones of franchises, but without a great wide receiver, he's limited. Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr. are two of the most notable receivers in the game, and they've got some really high prop totals to try to reach in the 2017 season.
The commonalities between these players can't be ignored. They're both on explosive offenses, both have quarterbacks who are future Hall of Famers and both have new weapons on the offensive side of the ball that could either eat into their production or ultimately help it out by drawing some attention elsewhere. But in the case of both Beckham and Brown, they've managed to be at the top of their game as solo acts, and it's hard to see their quarterbacks all of a sudden stop throwing the ball their way.
Rookie with the Most Receiving Yards
NFL Odds: Zay Jones -140 / Corey Davis +170 / John Ross +260
Preview: Teams in need of help at receiver targeted players to fulfill those holes with six wide receivers taken in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft. Corey Davis was the first receiver selected, taken with the fifth overall pick by the Tennessee Titans, but will he have the most productive season of the rookie class? We don’t know the answer to that question, but there are several play-making wideouts who will have an immediate impact on their respective teams in 2017. Continue...
Number of Antonio Brown Penalties for Excessive Touchdown Celebration
NFL Odds: Over 1.5 -160 / Under 1.5 +130
Preview: Scoring a touchdown in the NFL isn’t the easiest thing to do, so when it happens a celebration is well deserved. And nobody celebrates a score the way Antonio Brown does. Brown found new and different ways to rejoice after reaching paydirt and his antics proved costly to the team in terms of yardage for the penalties assessed, and in Brown’s wallet. The NFL has loosened its rules on end zone celebrations for 2017 and Brown should again have plenty of opportunities to test the league’s new rules. Continue...
Antonio Brown Total Receiving Touchdowns
NFL Odds: Over 11 -115 / Under 11 -115
Antonio Brown Total Receiving Yards
NFL Odds: Over 1,550 -125 / Under 1,550 -105
Preview: The Pittsburgh Steelers have the pieces to be an elite offense in the NFL in 2017 and receiver Antonio Brown is at the center of it all. Brown is neck-and-neck with the likes of Julio Jones, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jordy Nelson as tops in the game and should again have a very productive season with Ben Roethlisberger tossing him the ball. The two have a bond and they make each other better. If they each play a full season there’s no reason why Brown shouldn’t top his number for receiving yards and touchdowns in 2017. Continue...
Odell Beckham Jr. Total Receiving Touchdowns
NFL Odds: Over 12 -105 / Under 12 -125
Odell Beckham Jr. Total Receiving Yards
NFL Odds: Over 1,350 -120 / Under 1,350 -110
Preview: Without a doubt Odell Beckham Jr. makes the New York Giants offense better. But given the antics the fourth-year player has displayed, some might wonder if his production is worth the headache. There was the infamous boat party before last season’s playoff flameout. Now there is talk of a new contract with two years left on his rookie deal. How Beckham handles the situation heading into 2017 will have a lot to do with whether or not he’s able to put up huge numbers once again. Continue...
The 2017 NFL regular season is one of high anticipation. Thirty-one teams are going to be trying to chase down the New England Patriots with the goal of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in Minneapols. But before teams worry about the postseason, there's a 16-game regular season to contend with. Props are aplenty for sure for the season ahead that should whet the appetites of NFL bettors throughout the offseason. Continue
