The first extreme bye week of the season is lined up for Week 9 NFL betting with the Bengals, Colts, Giants, Eagles, Cardinals and Jaguars getting the week off. The abbreviated schedule means the lines will be even sharper, so be sure to put your time in before throwing your money down on the Week 9 betting slate.
If in need of help, look no further than Gamblers Palace who will have all the live odds, injury reports, and free picks with analysis for all 13 games set to go in Week 9. Kicking things off will be a solid geographical rivalry with the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers set to lock horns on Thursday Night Football. Derek Carr squaring off against Jimmy G will no doubt be worth the price of admission. So too will be the coaching matchup between Jon Gruden and Kyle Shanahan with both having much to prove in front of a nationally televised audience.
Sunday’s morning slate is headlined by one of the best rivalries the league has to offer with Big Ben Roethlisberger traveling to Baltimore to square off against the Ravens. These AFC North rivals normally play to closely contested contests with the average margin of victory checking in at just over a touchdown over the last seven meetings. Pittsburgh swept the season rivalry a year ago, and pasted Baltimore 26-9 in as 3.5 point underdogs in its visit to M&T Bank Stadium. John Harbaugh will no doubt have his team way up for this matchup!
Sunday’s afternoon lineup is loaded with must-see matchups with the Chargers venturing in front of the “12th Man” to battle the Seahawks, New Orleans hosting the Rams, and the Broncos looking to get the best of the Texans a Mile High. Sunday Night Football should also be a doozy with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers set to square off against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Foxboro. This will be the team’s first meeting since 2014, and they’ve split their four confrontations since the turn of the century.
Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys will be put under the national spotlight on Monday Night Football when the Tennessee titans come a calling to close out the Week 9 NFL betting festivities. Big D split its four meetings with AFC opposition last season ( 1-2-1 ATS ), but has gone 3-1 straight up and against the spread the last four times it welcomed AFC opposition into ATT Stadium.
Oakland Raiders at San Francisco 49ers, Levi’s Stadium – 8:20 p.m. ET ( FOX )
Opening Line: San Francisco -3, 47
Preview: NFL schedule makers look like idiots sometimes. Granted, they didn’t know Jimmy G would rip his knee to shred only three weeks into the regular season, but why pit the Oakland Raiders up against the San Francisco 49ers in a standalone game? On a Thursday no less! Regardless, NFL live bettors will no doubt tune in for the Week 9 tilt that pits these two train wrecks up against one another on Thursday Night Football. Hopefully it’s the last time either makes an appearance on primetime the remainder of the season. Continue...
Opening Line: Baltimore -3, O.U 47
Preview: The grittiest rivalry in pro football will add another chapter to its history when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore this Sunday. These teams have already met once this season with Baltimore securing a 26-14 win in Heinz Field at the end of September. Baltimore went up 14-0 after driving the field and then capitalizing on a Vance McDonald fumble within the first seven minutes, only for Pittsburgh to roar back and tie the game right before halftime. The Ravens proved to be too much for the Steelers after the break though, and Pittsburgh gained just 47 yards on its last six drives. Continue...
Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints, Mercedes-Benz Superdome – 4:25 p.m. ET
Opening Line: Los Angeles -1, 59
Preview: Just like their matchup with the Packers was the most heavily watched and wagered upon game of last week, the Los Angeles Rams Week 9 venture into New Orleans to battle the Saints against the live betting lines is sure to bring with it a ton of fanfare from both fans and NFL bettors alike. These are arguably the two best teams the NFC has to offer this season, so a bloody battle down to the final gun is to be expected. Much like last week’s game against the Packers, the betting public looks to be fading Sean McVay’s squad once again turning New Orleans into the short home chalk after opening up dogged. Continue...
Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium – 8:20 p.m. ET ( NBC )
Opening Line: New England -7, 56.5
Preview: Since getting out to a 1-2 overall start, the New England Patriots have rattled off five straight wins and covered the closing NFL odds at offshore sportsbooks in four of those matchups. In doing so, Bill Belichick’s squad once again finds itself in its rightful placement atop the AFC East standings. The story hasn’t been nearly as rosy for the Green Bay Packers who enter this Sunday Night Football a tough luck loser against the Rams in a game they certainly could’ve won had a player that was just shipped out to Baltimore not made a critical decision that ultimately cost them the game. Mike McCarthy’s squad will be out to right the ship in front of a nationally televised audience in this one. Continue...
Tennessee Titans at Dallas Cowboys, ATT Stadium – 8:15 p.m. ET ( ESPN )
