Now a full month into the season, it’s put up or shut up time for the teams that got out to slow starts. For those that didn’t, it’s time to continue pushing forward. If you’ve made a profit wagering on the NFL betting lines to this point, kudos. If you haven’t, you’d be best served taking in what our crack staff of NFL writers has to say about the Week 5 NFL betting odds. Best part about making money at Gamblers Palace is that all selections are free of charge!
Kicking things off in Week 5 will be the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots. The last time these franchises opposed one another, the topic of “Deflategate” wouldn’t go away. Hopefully this time around, we’ll only be concerned with the matchup between Andrew Luck and Tom Brady.
Eight games are set to kick in the morning slate on Sunday afternoon with a number of intriguing matchups taking center stage. Jacksonville at Kansas City will be must see TV, as will Atlanta at Pittsburgh. Sleeper games that could impress in the matchup in Buffalo between the Titans and Bills as well as Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants paying Cam Newton and the Panthers a visit in Carolina.
We get a rematch of the NFC Championship Game in the afternoon when the now Kirk Cousins led Minnesota Vikings invades the Linc to tango with Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles. Think Minny will be playing with a chip on its shoulder in that one?
The Battle of the Lone Star State is set to go down at ATT Stadium on NBC Sunday Night Football, when the Dallas Cowboys will look to win a fourth straight matchup against Houston. The Texans are yet to score more than 19 points in any of the previous four regular season meetings. That will likely change with Deshaun Watson now at the controls.
The Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be rocking for Monday Night football when the New Orleans Saints return home from a two game road trip to host the Washington Redskins. These teams played to a thrilling 34-31 final won by the Saints in overtime last season. Though the Skins lost, they covered the game as 9.5 point underdogs per the closing NFL betting lines to move to 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings.
Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium – 8:20 p.m. ET ( FOX )
Opening Line: New England -10, 53
Preview: The New England Patriots were about as big a slam dunk as there is on the NFL live betting lines in last week’s home tilt against the division rival Miami Dolphins. The Fins undefeated start paired with everyone doubting the Hoodie after his squad got out to a lackluster start made the spread to beat questionable at best. How were they only laying less than a touchdown to the overachieving Dolphins? That unfortunately isn’t the case this week with the number to beat back up in the double digits. Continue...
Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs, Arrowhead Stadium – 1 p.m. ET
Opening Line: Kansas City -3, 49.5
Preview: The Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated after stealing the Monday nighter in Denver, and enter Week 5 owners of the third shortest futures odds to win Super Bowl LIII. Hot on their trail are the Jacksonville Jaguars who got to the precipice of the big game last season only to fall short against the Evil Empire. Arguably the best defense in the league is set to square off against the best offense in what’s being billed the live betting game of the week. Continue...
Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field – 4:25 p.m. ET
Opening Line: Philadelphia -3, 44.5
Preview: Though the Philadelphia Eagles suffered the same fate as the Minnesota Vikings did on the road last week, their odds to win Super Bowl LIII remained firm while their opponents are now the longest they’ve been since being released over the summer. With that, Mike Zimmer’s squad will have much to prove in this save face tilt against the 5 live betting lines versus the defending champs. Though both defenses got taken to task last week, the matchup still owns one of the lowest totals of the Week 5 slate. Continue...
Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans, NRG Stadium – 8:20 p.m. ET ( NBC )
Opening Line: Houston -3, 45.5
Preview: The battle of the Lone Star State is set to go down in NBC’s Week 5 installment of Sunday Night Football. Live betting is sure to be a big hit with Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys set to square off against Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. Tonight will mark the first regular season meeting between these in-state rivals since 2014. Since winning the first ever meeting, Big D has gone on to win each of the last three. Continue...
Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints, Mercedes-Benz Superdome – 8:15 p.m. ET ( ESPN )
Opening Line: New Orleans -6.5, 51
Preview: Monday Night Football is for the stars, and a bevy of them will take to the Superdome gridiron for Week 5’s nationally televised telecast on ESPN. Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram, Alex Smith, Adrian Peterson, Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson will all be in attendance. With that the case, BookMaker.eu is going to offer up a bevy of prop bets for you to sink your teeth into leading up to the game’s kickoff. Let’s dig into the possibilities and see if we can drum up some scenarios to keep an eye on for when the odds officially drop. Continue...
