NFL Week 17 Betting Odds - 2017 NFL Football Predictions

NFL Week 17 PredictionsThe last week of the NFL schedule gives us a jammed pack Sunday, but nothing else. Every game will take place on Sunday afternoon with 12 early games and 4 late ones, giving viewers their heaviest binge day of the season. Even though most of these games will likely mean nothing, all of these are divisional affairs so fans will feel at least some animosity.

Week 17 of the NFL season isn't carrying quite as much drama as you might think this time around, but New Year's Eve is still going to be awesome to watch unfold with all 16 games occurring in either the 1 p.m. ET or 4:25 p.m. ET timeslots.

Nine of the 12 slots available for the postseason have been clinched, and there are six teams who are still fighting for the last three.

Baltimore, Tennessee and Atlanta are all in the driver's seat for these last bids.

The two Wild Card slots in the AFC are both still up for grabs, but the Ravens and Titans look good to claim them. Baltimore is a double-digit favorite against the Bengals in Marvin Lewis' last game while Tennessee is playing against a Jacksonville outfit that has absolutely nothing to play for with the No. 3 seed already in hand.

Should the Titans slip, the Chargers (-7.5 vs. Oakland) and Bills (-2.5 at Miami) will both have a shot to jump into the fray.

Over in the NFC, the math is a lot simpler. The Falcons are in if they can beat the Panthers. If they fail, it'll be up to Seattle to beat the Cardinals to get into the postseason.

Atlanta and Carolina are playing against each other in what is unequivocally the biggest game of the weekend. The Panthers could still get as high as the No. 2 seed with a win, a Minnesota loss to Chicago and a New Orleans loss to Tampa Bay. They also have nowhere to go but up with the No. 5 seed already locked up. The Falcons can only finish at No. 6, but they are probably going to have to win this game with the Seahawks lined as double-digit favorites over the Cardinals at home in Week 17.

The other major storyline to follow in Week 17 is the chase for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The drama really isn't there with the Patriots playing against the Jets at Gillette Stadium. If New England wins that game, the road to the Super Bowl will go through Foxboro once again. If not, the Steelers could still swipe the No. 1 seed against the 0-15 Browns.

Both New England and Pittsburgh are whopping 16.5-point favorites, making them the second- and third-biggest favorites of the NFL season.

NFL Sunday, December 31, 2017

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Lions -7.5, O/U 42.5

Preview: The Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers both thought they were going to be in the midst of the playoff picture in the NFC at the end of the regular season. Instead, their Week 17 battle means absolutely nothing to either team, and both will be building towards their 2018 campaigns instead. Continue...

New York Jets at New England Patriots - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Patriots -16.5

Preview: The New England Patriots are forced to play one last game in order to wrap up the No. 1 seed in the AFC. It shouldn't be all that much of a fight in Week 17 at home against the New York Jets, but Bill Belichick's crew won't take the day off for sure with home field advantage throughout the playoffs waiting as the prize for winning this last game. Continue...

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Colts -3.5, O/U 41

Preview: The Week 17 clash between the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts may as well be the blind leading the blind. Neither one of these teams has even the remotest of pulses at the end of the year, and that makes this finale for both teams the biggest dud of the week. Continue...

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Steelers -16.5

Preview: The Cleveland Browns only have one last chance to post their first victory of the season and avoid becoming the second team in NFL history to finish a year at 0-16. Unfortunately, they're bigger underdogs in their Week 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers than they have been all season long at any of the best NFL sportsbooks. Continue...

Washington Redskins at New York Giants - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Redskins -3, O/U 40

Preview: This isn't how Eli Manning wanted to see it come to an end in the Big Apple.

Manning has been almost disgracefully bad in 2017 for the New York Giants. The G-Men are going to be picking No. 2 in the upcoming NFL Draft, and that essentially could be curtains on the career of one of the great Giants of all-time. If this really is Eli's last stand, the Washington Redskins could be in for a true fight to finish up the season at .500. Continue...

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Vikings -13.5, O/U 40

Preview: The Minnesota Vikings were almost in a position where they could have taken it easy in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears. Instead, the Panthers beat the Buccaneers, leaving the Vikes one more win to get in the final week of the season to ensure that they'll be off for the first week of the playoffs and only have to win two games to earn the right to host the Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Continue...

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Check Back Later

Preview: The Dallas Cowboys are slight favorites against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday on FOX. The Cowboys are out of the playoffs, while the Eagles have clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Both teams will likely be playing some backup players in this game, especially the Eagles, as they won’t want to risk any key players for long. The Cowboys should play more of their starters, but they have also said they want to see some of their younger players in action. Let’s look at the game and NFL picks. Continue...

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens - 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Ravens -10, O/U 41

Preview: The Baltimore Ravens aren't quite guaranteed a spot in the postseason yet, but they're a win away from making their dream of playing into January a reality. The crowd at M&T Bank Stadium will be pumped up for what will certainly be the last home game of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals. Continue...

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins - 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Bills -2.5, O/U 42

Preview: The Buffalo Bills are still breathing in the playoff race, but only barely. They're going to have no choice but to beat the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 and hope that both the Chargers and Titans lose for them to sneak into the back end of the playoffs in the AFC. Continue...

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Falcons -3, O/U 47

Preview: The NFL really wished that the Atlanta Falcons had beaten the Saints last week. If that was the case, this game against the Carolina Panthers would have been for the NFC South title and would have been an easy choice for flexing into Sunday Night Football in Week 17.

Instead, the NFL has elected to forego SNF in Week 17 without an obvious game to put in that slot, and that will give both the Panthers and Falcons motivation to play this game out. Continue...

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Saints -7.5, O/U 50

Preview: The New Orleans Saints are in a fantastic position heading into the last week of the regular season. They haven't quite won the NFC South yet, but they'll get to stay home for the start of the new year if they can handle a struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers outfit in Week 17. Continue...

Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers - 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Chargers -7.5, O/U 47.5

Preview: The Los Angeles Chargers deserve a lot of credit for hanging around in the AFC playoff picture as long as they have. They're going to need the Jaguars to beat the Titans in Week 17 to have a shot of getting into the postseason, but they also need to take care of business on their own and put aside the stingy Oakland Raiders to have a shot at playing into January. Continue...

Arizona Cardinals at Seattle Seahawks - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Seahawks -10, O/U 41

Preview: The Seattle Seahawks were looking for a Christmas miracle on Christmas Eve, and they got one. They were thoroughly outplayed by the Cowboys and won anyway, and just about everything that needed to break their way to stay in the playoff picture did. They still need some help to get into the playoffs, but you'd like to think they'll take care of business against the Arizona Cardinals in what will be their home finale in Week 17. Continue...

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos - 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line: Chiefs -3, O/U 41

Preview: The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos have played in some serious duels over the course of the last several seasons. This year, they're on opposite ends of the earth with the Broncos playing for draft picks and the Chiefs already having won the AFC West title. There's absolutely nothing on the line in Week 17 when the two hook up with the fate of both teams decided, and it's a wonder how vanilla this game is going to look from both sides. Continue...

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)

Opening Line: Rams -4, O/U 43.5

Preview: The San Francisco 49ers enter the last week of the regular season as the hottest team in the NFL that won't be playing in the postseason. They've won each of their last four games, including beating a Jacksonville team that won the AFC South last week and a Tennessee team still fighting for its playoff life the week prior.

Now, the Niners have their toughest test of the year against the Los Angeles Rams at the Coliseum, though motivation for L.A. is going to be questioned for sure. Continue...
