Just over a quarter of the 2017 NFL regular season remains, and the NFC is really starting to take some shape with a defined pecking order.
The Eagles continue winning games and have the best record in the NFL at 10-1. Their toughest test of the season to date is on tap at Seattle on NFL Sunday Football, a game that is surely going to draw the attention of NFL betting fans to the point that it could have the biggest handle of any single game of the season. Philadelphia is thought so much of that it is opening up as a favorite at CenturyLink Field.
This is the first time since 2012 the Seahawks have been home underdogs in back-to-back games at CenturyLink.
The Vikings have continued their push as the second-best team in the NFC with Case Keenum under center. Yet Minnesota is an underdog against Atlanta in Week 13, a game the Falcons desperately need to stay in the NFC South race against a New Orleans team that is now clearly fourth-best in the conference to the Rams.
The Saints and Panthers play in a huge NFC South tussle on Sunday afternoon while the Rams are visiting Arizona and are favored by 7+ points on the road for the first time since the Greatest Show on Turf era.
Meanwhile in the AFC, it's clear that the world is chasing New England. The Patriots are favored in their 28th straight game overall in their annual visit to Buffalo. A win in that game, and the AFC East title will effectively be heading back to Foxboro once again.
Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys - 8:25 p.m. ET (NBC)
Opening Line: Cowboys -1, O/U 44
Preview: We're officially at gut check time for the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. These two teams are both a long way away from the playoffs in the NFC, and both are probably going to have to win out if they want to have a realistic chance of getting into the playoffs. Thus, their Thursday nighter against each other is going to be crucial, making this one of the most notable games to open a week of the NFL season. Continue...
Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Ravens -3
Preview: Competing with the Bills, Chargers, Raiders and Titans for one of the AFC’s two wild card berths, the Baltimore Ravens will return to their home gridiron in Week 13 looking to score a third straight win for only the second time this season. Standing in their way of doing as such will be a hungry Detroit Lions outfit that saw its three-game win streak come to a close on Turkey Day after the Vikings dropped 30 on them in Motown. Continue...
San Francisco 49ers at Chicago Bears - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Bears -5, O/U 39.5
Preview: The last time the Chicago Bears were favored by more than a field goal in a game, they were playing against the San Francisco 49ers two years ago here at Soldier Field in the first week of December. Continue...
Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Falcons -3, O/U 47.5
Preview: The Minnesota Vikings are tied for the second-best record in football, yet they have only been favored at all of the top NFL sportsbooks in eight of their 11 games this season. They're likely set to be underdogs in each of their next two games. A three-game road trip continues with a duel against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Continue...
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Patriots -9, O/U 49
Preview: Tom Brady has been in the NFL a long time. He's dominated the AFC East every step of the way.
Only twice in Brady's career have the New England Patriots not won the AFC East, and one of those seasons was when he spent basically the entire year on the sidelines with a torn ACL. The Pats can effectively lock up yet another divisional crown on Sunday if they go into Orchard Park and take care of the Buffalo Bills. Continue...
Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Dolphins -1, O/U 38
Preview: A pair of teams looking to put an end to multiple game losing streaks will collide on the gridiron in Week 13 when the Denver Broncos invade South Beach to swim with the Miami Dolphins. Vance Joseph’s squad dropped their seventh straight game both straight up and against the spread in the Black Hole last week, while the Fins failed to cover a 17-point spread in a 35-17 defeat at New England. It only makes sense that these teams would play to a tie as bad as each has recently been. Continue...
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Check Back Later
Preview: The Tennessee Titans likely won a game they shouldn’t have last week in Indianapolis. The poor effort should have Mike Mularkey’s squad chomping at the bit to get back on the field and put forth a better semblance of themselves. They couldn’t have asked for a better matchup in Week 13 to do that with the division rival Houston Texans coming to town. Adding more intrigue to the matchup is the 43-point defeat the Titz suffered when these team’s collided back in Week 4. Continue...
Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Jaguars -9.5, O/U 41
Preview: How the heck did the Jacksonville Jaguars go down in defeat to Blaine Gabbert and the Arizona Cardinals last week? Better yet, how the heck did the Indianapolis Colts not win or at the very least cover versus the Tennessee Titans last week? These AFC South rivals are set to square off for the second time this season in Week 13, and I got a feeling one of them is going to be on the wrong end of an ugly beat down. Can you guess which one? Continue...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Green Bay Packers - 1 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Check Back Later
Preview: The Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both had high hopes for this season, but those hopes were effectively smashed when they lost their starting quarterbacks due to injury. With both Jameis Winston and Aaron Rodgers watching from the sidelines, the Bucs and Packers will engage in a battle that surprisingly has very little meaning to anyone short of bettors. Continue...
Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets - 1 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Chiefs -5, O/U 44
Preview: A brilliant start to the season has been followed up with just one win over the last six games for Andy Reid’s Kansas City Chiefs. The current AFC West leaders will attempt to get right on the east coast when they run up against a AFC East team for the second straight week in the form of a New York Jets team still looking for that one win that takes them over their season-long win total of 4.5. Continue...
Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Saints -4, O/U 47.5
Preview: In one of the premiere matchups of Week 13, NFC South bragging rights will be on the line when Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers invade the Superdome looking to avenge an earlier season defeat to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Sean Payton’s squad went into Carolina and handed Riverboat Ron’s squad a humbling 34-13 defeat back in Week 3, so it’s safe to say the Panthers will be out to return the favor this time around. Continue...
Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Chargers - 4:05 p.m. ET (CBS)
Opening Line: Chargers -13, O/U 42.5
Preview: The Cleveland Browns are going to hope that lightning strikes twice in consecutive years. The only team that Hue Jackson has beaten as the head coach of the Browns is the Los Angeles Chargers.
This year, though, the game is being played in L.A. instead of in Cleveland, and the Chargers – now representing the City of Angels instead of San Diego – are playing some of their best football in years. Continue...
Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Rams -7, O/U 45.5
Preview: The Arizona Cardinals already found one savior this season in Adrian Peterson. Have they found a second with Blaine Gabbert?
If Gabbert plays as well as he did last week, the Los Angeles Rams might have a thing or two to think about with their trip to the desert in Week 13. Continue...
New York Giants at Oakland Raiders - 4:25 p.m. ET (FOX)
Opening Line: Raiders -7.5, O/U 44
Preview: The Oakland Raiders haven't played well this year, but a stroke of good fortune and a huge losing streak by the Chiefs have kept them right in the playoff discussion. Opportunity will knock with an attempt to get back to .500 when the New York Giants come to town in Week 13. Continue...
Philadelphia Eagles at Seattle Seahawks - 8:30 p.m. ET (NBC)
Opening Line: Eagles -3, O/U 48
Preview: Sunday Night Football is sure going to be fun in Week 13. The Seattle Seahawks aren't underdogs at home often, but the fact that they are for a second consecutive home game is a true testament to what all of the best NFL sportsbooks think of the Philadelphia Eagles at the moment. Continue...
Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals - 8:30 p.m. ET (ESPN)
Opening Line: Steelers -6.5
Preview: Every time the Cincinnati Bengals seem to have a good thing going, they seem to run into the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers once again have a chance to derail the momentum of their AFC North rivals on Monday Night Football, and a win would effectively end any chance anyone else realistically has of winning this division. Continue...
