NFL Rookie Prop Bets - 2017 NFL Rookie Props
NFL Rookie Betting Props 2017 - Rookie Football Prop Bets
A huge emphasis was put on quarterbacks in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Three teams made big trades to move up in the draft to take QBs, but all three teams had starters already in place in the event they hadn't ultimately drafted one. Not only is projecting the quantity of games started by Houston's Deshaun Watson and Chicago's Mitch Trubisky amongst the top bets in our 2017 NFL rookie props, but there's a lot of emphasis on new running backs as well. Ezekiel Elliott reset the thought of a top 10 running back when he dominated for the Cowboys last season, and now, Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey are going to be asked to do similar with the Jaguars and Panthers.
Myles Garrett Total Sacks
NFL Odds: Over 6 -115 / Under 6 -115
Preview: Having a bunch of high draft picks only works if you draft the right players. It looks like the Cleveland Browns nailed the 2017 draft with Myles Garrett going first overall. Garrett was the consensus best player in the draft and the Browns grabbed him. The team needs upgrades at nearly every position after winning just one game last season, but the Brownies resisted taking a quarterback who wasn’t a sure thing. There’s no guarantee Garrett will be a sure thing, but he’s as close as anyone can get in the recent draft class. Continue...
Mitch Trubisky Starts
NFL Odds: Over 1.5 -150 / Under 1.5 +120
Preview: Unlike the Texans, the Chicago Bears are in a position to develop their top draft pick. Mitchell (don’t call me Mitch) Trubisky was a puzzling selection and the Bears did some shifting in their draft position to get him, but they need a quarterback after Jay Cutler was let go. The Bears are rebuilding but they poured assets into the position by signing Mike Glennon as a free agent and adding Mark Sanchez. With those two it might be difficult for Trubisky to see any action in 2017. Continue...
Deshaun Watson Starts
NFL Odds: Over 13.5 +145 / Under 13.5 -180
Preview: The Houston Texans swung for the fences by trading up and drafting Clemson superstar Deshaun Watson. The team has had difficulties at the quarterback position the past several years and the Brock Osweiler free agent fiasco ended when the Texans dealt him to Cleveland. Houston needs a QB now with a window to compete in the AFC closing fast. The Texans defense should again be one of the best with J.J. Watt returning, but the offense needs to hold up its end of the deal. Can it do that with Tom Savage as the starter? Continue...
Leonard Fournette Rushing Yards
NFL Odds: Over 900.5 -115 / Under 900.5 -115
Leonard Fournette Rushing Touchdowns
NFL Odds: Over 6.5 -115 / Under 6.5 -115
Preview: A good sign for Leonard Fournette is that the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him with the fourth overall pick in the recent draft. That would be a good sign for anybody. Actually, the good news is that Fournette is going to get the ball, a lot, if he can handle the workload. And there really is no doubt about that after a tremendous career at LSU. The Jags are already discussing letting last year’s leading rusher go, and if that is the case, Fournette will get plenty of opportunities to reach the over on his rushing yard and rushing touchdown prop totals. Continue...
Christian McCaffrey Total Rushing + Receiving Yards
NFL Odds: Over 1,000.5 - 115 / Under 1,000.5 -115
Christian McCaffrey Total Rushing + Receiving Touchdowns
NFL Odds: Over 7 -115 / Under 7 -115
Preview: The drafting of Christian McCaffrey by Carolina leads us to believe the Panthers may be changing their offensive philosophy. And that’s a good sign for McCaffrey, who was the premier all-purpose player in college football during his time at Stanford. While he was drafted as a running back and is a pass-catcher out of the backfield, McCaffrey also wants to be known as a receiver who can play the slot or move to the outside. That gives him the chance to reach the over on the prop bets. But will Cam Newton and the Panthers vary their attack enough? Continue...
