NLCS Baseball Odds - Dodgers Vs Cubs Series Odds
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs Odds - MLB Series Predictions
The Tampa Bay Rays will have great interest in the NLCS. The man who helped craft their team for all those years in the mid- and late-2000s, Andrew Friedman, is now the mastermind behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, while the manager who pushed seemingly every single right button for all those years at the Trop, Joe Maddon, is donning his "Try Not To Sucktober" shirt for the Chicago Cubs still this late in the season.
Yes, baseball got everything that it wanted with a series between the Dodgers and the Cubs. We've got two of the biggest markets in the game, two of the most recognizable teams in the game, and for our money, the two best teams in the NL as well. To say that this should end up being a heck of a series is an understatement even though Chicago is a solid -215 favorite on the NLCS betting lines.

The rotation hasn't been quite set yet for either of these teams, but we can make some good assumptions along the way.
We do know that Maddon is going to be calling upon Jon Lester for Game 1 of the NLCS as he did for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Giants. From there, we'll see some combination of Kyle Hendricks, Jake Arrieta and John Lackey, though clearly, Arrieta and Lester were the better starting pitchers against San Fran. Particularly Lester blew through eight shutout innings in Game 1 of the opening series of the postseason, and that's why he's earned the right to toss out the first pitch of the 2016 NLCS.
Dave Roberts doesn't have nearly as clear of a path to his rotation for the NLCS. Clayton Kershaw pitched in Game 4 as a starter and Game 5 as a reliever, and we can't imagine he's going to be ready to go again before Game 3 back in LA. It's a dangerous proposition for sure though, because the rest of this rotation isn't exactly trustworthy.
Logic suggests that Kenta Maeda, in spite of the fact that he was lit up by the Nationals in Game 3 of the NLDS, will be starting in Game 2. Rich Hill won't be available until Game 3 at best of the NLCS either, so the Game 2 starter is very much so up in the air. It could be Ross Stripling or even 20-year old Julio Urias, the latter of whom threw two great innings against the Nats on the road in Game 5 on Thursday night. Roberts will surely keep his options open, though we just can't imagine Kershaw throwing again in Game 2 on two days of rest.
