The Fall Classic has arrived! The chalk ended up taking care of business with both the Los Angeles Dodgers ( +258 ) and Boston Red Sox ( +172 ) expected by linemakers to represent both the National and American League in the World Series. The rematch of last year’s matchup is all lined up, and it’s ready to go with first pitch of Game 1 scheduled to go Tuesday night. The following is a list of this week’s nationally televised playoff games on FOX readily open to be wagered upon at BookMaker.eu.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Boston Red Sox Game 1 on FOX / ATS Pick
Chris Sale is expected to be locked in and ready to go for his first career World Series start on Tuesday night even though he was forced to miss Game 5 of the ALCS due to a hospital stay from an infected belly button ring. Yes, you read that correctly. The lefty hasn’t been much of a factor this postseason. While he did manage to log a win in his first start against the Yankees, he only managed to go 5.1 innings and allowed 2 ER and walked a pair to go along with 8 K. He then pitched an inning of relief before toeing the bump in Game 1 of the ALCS against the Houston Astros who only got to him for a hit and 2 ER, but he walked four and only struck out five batters. He’ll be working on nine days’ rest, so hopefully the former Cy Young Award winner will be back in top form.
Though he pitched an inning of relief in Game 7 to help the Dodgers get back to the World Series, Clayton Kershaw is likely to toe the bump for the series opener against the Red Sox. The lefty has made four appearances in the postseason including Saturday night’s lone inning in which he struck out a pair and only tossed 15 pitches. In the lone road start, Kershaw was roughed up for six hits ( 1 HR ) and 4 ER through three innings of work. He made that appearance on extended rest. On normal rest in the playoffs to date, the southpaw has thrown 15 innings of 1 ER ball with an impressive 12:2 K/BB ratio. Should Davie Roberts’ elect to send his ace to the bump on either Monday or Tuesday, it will mark the first-ever appearance for Kershaw in historic Fenway Park as well as his first run-in with the BoSox.
