Las Vegas Bowl Prediction - Oregon Ducks Vs Boise State Broncos Odds

NCAA Las Vegas Bowl Betting Odds and Prediction

When: Saturday, December 16, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC)

Where: Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, NV

Who: Oregon Ducks vs. Boise State Broncos

The Royal Purple Las Vegas bowl ( formerly the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas ) is an NCAA-sanctioned Division I-A post-season college football bowl game that has been played annually at 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1992.

The NCAA Bowl game, is one of the first bowl games to take the field every year on the NCAA Bowl schedule and annually host the top choice from the Mountain West vs. a Pacific-12 Conference.

This year Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl will be play on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at 3:30 p.m. with the fine folks at ABC.

Las Vegas Bowl Prediction - Oregon Ducks vs. Boise State Broncos

Back when the Broncos were the darlings of college football, they were fortunate enough to score a home-and-home series with Oregon. The Ducks were perhaps shockingly beaten in both games, and even though that happened a decade ago now at this point, teams are still chicken to schedule games out in Boise.

The Broncos, though, are a shell of their old selves. Sure, they won 10 games this year and captured the Mountain West title, but this conference sort of fell apart this season to the point that Fresno State went from one of the worst teams in the league to the conference title game.

Boise State's defense is still pretty good by Group of Five standards, and this unit propelled the team to wins over good teams like Troy, San Diego State, Wyoming and Colorado State.

Oregon had a tale of three different seasons. At the beginning and the end of the year, Justin Herbert was under center and was slinging the ball all over the place. The team averaged over 52 points per game in his seven starts, and it went 6-1 with him in the fold.

When Herbert was out, though, the Ducks fell apart. They went just 1-4 and scored more than 14 points just one time in those five games.

Oregon may have some questions to answer about its next head coach by the time the Las Vegas Bowl comes around. Willie Taggart seems like he's on the verge of taking the Florida State job, and that could push the Ducks back into a coach hunt for the second straight season.

Opening Line: Oregon -5

Preview: The first Top 25 team to play in a bowl game this year will be the Boise State Broncos. It's been a disappointing year for the men from the Smurf Turf, but at least they won the Mountain West and have earned the right to play in the Las Vegas Bowl. Their reward is one last shot against a Power Five conference team, this time the Oregon Ducks out of the Pac-12. Continue...
