The John Deere Classic moves back into its original spot on the Tour’s schedule, annually played one week prior to the Open Championship. Last year it was moved to the middle of August due to the Olympics. The tournament gets underway July 13-16, 2017, live at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

You may remember this tournament as the Quad Cities Open upon the inception of the event in 1972, or the Hardee’s Classic in the 80s, which sponsored the event for many years, before John Deere took over in 1999.

TPC Deere Run measures 7,257 yards and plays to a par of 71. The course annually gives up low scores and is considered one of the easiest tracks on Tour. Paul Goydos shot a 59 in 2010, the same year Steve Stricker won the tournament and set a tournament record of 26-under par.

Former commissioner of the PGA Tour, Deane Beman, won the first Quad Cities Open in 1972. Steve Stricker holds the record for the most wins with three. Jordan Spieth picked up his first ever PGA Tour win at the John Deere Classic in 2013 and added another in 2015. Iowa native and two-time major winner Zach Johnson won here in 2012.
