Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Odds & Game Predictions
Jacksonville Jaguars Season Preview / 2017 NFL Jacksonville Jaguars Odds
Maybe it’s because fans in the states don’t want to see their ugly brand of football, but the Jacksonville Jaguars will play overseas for the fifth straight season when they take on the Baltimore Ravens at Wemblay Stadium in Week 3. The Jags returned to their familiar style last week, losing to the Titans 37-16 in their home opener, but they have won the last two times they played in London, beating the Colts last season and Buffalo in 2015.
If they are to continue that streak they need to play much better than Sunday’s disaster against Tennessee. Coming off one of their best games in recent memory, the Jags looked like last year’s club and Blake Bortles was the central figure. Bortles played a mistake-free game in the opener and the Jags pounced on the Texans. They failed to build off that victory and were thoroughly trounced. Bortles was up to his old tricks, turning the ball over three times with a pair of picks and a lost fumble, and Jacksonville allowed 30 consecutive points after taking a 3-0 lead.
Nothing went right for the Jags. Leonard Fournette was held to 40 yards on 14 carries, the defense collected one sack after amassing a team record 10 the week before, and the Titans scored on their first five second half possessions to turn the contest into a rout. You’re never as good as your best days and never as bad as your worst ones, but the Jags still have plenty of work to do to be a competitive club.

2017 Jacksonville Jaguars Game Results
Week 2: Titans 37, Jaguars 16
ATS Result: Titans -1
Over/Under Total Result: Over 42
Many of the same problems that have plagued the Jags over recent years appeared in this loss. They gave the ball away three times, all courtesy of Bortles, and their 10 penalties for 99 yards was a huge issue. Jacksonville actually had a 3-0 lead after an early field goal, but the defense couldn’t contain the Titans, surrendering points on six consecutive drives to turn a tie game into a 28-point deficit. The Jags allowed 179 yards on the ground even with DeMarco Murray spending most of the day on the bench.
Week 1: Jaguars 29, Texans 7
ATS Result: Jaguars +5.5
Over/Under Total Result: Under 38
With Bortles managing the game instead of trying to win it, the Jags can be successful. The game plan worked in Houston with the Jags running for 155 yards while allowing Bortles to throw just 21 passes. They built a 19-0 halftime lead and easily covered the 5.5-point spread by clamping down defensively. The Jags likely won’t score a lot of points, but if the defense plays as well as it did against Houston, they won’t have to.
Jacksonville Jaguars Pre-Season Game Results
Preseason Record: 2-2
ATS Record: 2-2
Over/Under Total Record: 2-2
The Jaguars have been bad for the past decade, but they’ve really messed up against the Texans. The Jags haven’t beaten Houston in the last six tries and are just 2-11 in the last 13 meetings. The games were close last season with both decided by a combined four points, but the Jags find ways to lose and until they overcome that, they will continue to be at the bottom of the division.
