Idaho Potato Bowl Prediction - Central Michigan Vs Wyoming Bowl Odds

NCAA Idaho Potato Bowl Betting Odds and Predction

When: Friday, December 22, 4 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Where: Albertsons Stadium, Boise, ID

Who: Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Wyoming Cowboys

The only bowl game to be played on a blue field is going to be interesting this year for sure. Wyoming is going to have a massive home field advantage against a Central Michigan team that will surely not have a huge contingent traveling to Boise just a few days before Christmas.

All eyes are going to be on Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen. Allen has emerged as one of the top contenders to be the first quarterback chosen in the 2018 NFL Draft. Assuming Allen is back on the field from a shoulder injury for his final collegiate game, there are going to be a load of scouts at this game from teams like the Browns, Jets, Giants and 49ers, all of whom could be interested in his services next year.

Allen hasn't played since the first half of the game against Air Force on November 11, and without him, the Cowboys were beaten by Fresno State and lowly San Jose State.

Still, the run in the middle of the season for Wyoming was awesome. The Cowboys knocked off Hawaii, Texas State, Utah State, New Mexico, Colorado State and Air Force with just one loss to Boise State in the middle, and they covered all seven of those games.

Central Michigan started off the season with wins over Rhode Island and Kansas, but it proceeded to lose four of its next five. Bowl eligibility was certainly in question at that point, but the Chippies went on to win their last five games, including pulling off upsets against Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois.

The Chippewas have had some heartbreak in recent years, losing each of their last three trips to bowl games. Their last victory came in the 2012 Little Caesars Bowl.

Craig Bohl is hoping to nail down his first bowl win at Wyoming. The Cowboys lost last year's Poinsettia Bowl and haven't been victorious in a December soiree since the New Mexico Bowl in 2009.

Potato Bowl Prediction - Central Michigan Chippewas vs. Wyoming Cowboys

Opening Line: Pick 'Em

Preview: Will Josh Allen play or won’t he? That is the key question that bettors have to answer when wagering on the Potato Bowl on Friday, December 22, as the Central Michigan Chippewas take on the Wyoming Cowboys on ESPN. Allen is the star quarterback for Wyoming and a projected top five pick in next year’s NFL Draft. Allen hasn’t played in the last two Wyoming games, both losses, and the offense struggled, so his presence is a big key to the Potato Bowl. Continue...
