Harrah's Philadelphia Race Track Odds
Harness racing season will be front and center on one of the fastest 5/8 mile tracks in North America.
Located in Chester, Pennsylvania, just south of the Philadelphia International Airport and situated along the Delaware River just south of The City of Brotherly Love, Harrah's Philadelphia Park Race Track unleashes harness horse racing on one of the country's fastest 5/8-mile track during the 150-day racing season.
Many of the top pacers and trotters take to the oval here during racing season, which lasts from March through December. Races take place Wednesday-Friday and Sunday and occasionally on Saturday. Memorial Day Weekend sees the biggest stakes races of the year, with both the Betsy Ross Invitational aged mare pace and the Maxie Lee Invitational aged trot happening on Sunday and offering a purse in the neighborhood of $250,000.
The 5/8-mile track at Harrah's Philadelphia is notable its especially fast limestone racing surface and a bridge that brings horses across the Delaware River at the midpoint of 1-mile races. They call it “The Miracle Turn.” The track's riverside location enables horse owners to bring their horses in on ships, so the facility doesn't have any stables. The paddock holds up to 131 horses.
