Gamblers Palace Horse Racing section gives an introductory of how to bet on horses at the top racebooks.
Throughout the introductory there will be definitions of important horse betting rules. The main object of betting on horses is to beat the 'Oddsmakers' or the 'Odds Compilers' and win some extra spending money.
Additionally, placing a bet on your favorite horse racing event makes it a lot more exciting and more enjoyable.
Post times may vary on every track. We encourage our players to get their bets in at least 10 minutes to post time to avoid any problems.
Post times at the track may vary from up to 5 minutes from the post time listed on our horse racing software.
Management reserves the right to void all tickets and payouts if they come in after the actual tracks post time.
Your bet ticket will be refunded and put back in your account once the race is graded. Be sure to get them in 10 minutes early.
Horse bet tickets
Once you build and confirm your horse bet tickets they are final. We cannot cancel confirmed bets.
Our racebooks do not honor tickets that are unsuccessfully entered.
Be sure to confirm your wager after your ticket is built. Be sure to check your pending wagers section to view all your bets.
Scratches mean that a horse will not run in the race for whatever reason.
A horse can be scratched just before the race. If the horse you bet on was scratched all Win, place, and show wagers will be refunded. If you bet an exacta, trifecta, superfecta, qinella or any other exotic wager a portion of your bets will be refunded.
Daily Doubles; if your horse is scratched before the 2nd leg of the daily double, a consolation will be paid on that combo, as specified by the track payouts.
Grading horse race bets
Horse betting tickets normally will be graded within minutes after the official results have been posted.
In the event there is a horse bet made with no track results or payout information posted by the track, the wager will be refunded. An example of this would be, 1. scratch horses reducing the number of entries, 2. no payout results ( the race did not run ).
Gamblers Palace Racebooks do not offer Consolation Payouts because the sites we list do not belong to the Pari-Mutuel pool. They do offer pool money that can be returned to the bettors. In the event the tracks posts a payout that includes wildcards, like ALL or 1/3, only the true race winners will be considered winners for grading.
There is a limit on how much an individual player can win from a single race.
This limit amount varies by track group as shown on the wager limits page.
For multi-race tickets (daily double and picks) the full win amount is applied to the final race. When the single race limit is reached, the race ticket itself will show the full win amount and an account correction will be made to bring winnings down to the limit.

Triple Crown Horse Track Odds - Off Track Betting
The excitement of horse race betting is generally amplified only a few times per year, when the hype of the Triple Crown races dominate the headlines.
The Kentucky Derby odds bring the initial excitement in May, which is followed two weeks later by the Preakness Stakes and then capped with the Belmont Stakes in June. These are the three premier horse races each season and can turn into a lucrative proposition for horse betting winners.
Whether you are a bigger fan of gambling or the horses, these events combine the two seamlessly. Betting on horse racing brings an excitement that is tough to match, as the race is filled with intensity from start to finish as the lead changes hands multiple times.
Off track horse betting is easily one of world's most popular sports, and the action at Saratoga is nothing short of exhilarating.
Bet on any of regular races during the season, or better yet, bet on the ponies during a major Triple Crown horse races or handicap events.
Horse racing is truly a magnificent sport that has stood the test of time.
Be sure to get your Travers Stakes Horse bets down early at Bookmaker sportsbook, because the Saratoga Race Course action is here.
