Clashes of style will be on display in the 2016 Holiday Bowl, a game that pits the high-flying Washington State Cougars and the methodical, defense-oriented Minnesota Golden Gophers.

The differences between these two teams can be seen all over the field. Wazzu threw the ball 612 times this season, and that doesn't include the fact that it ran the ball almost 400 times as a team as well. Minnesota only ran 809 total plays. Holiday Bowl Betting Tips

One of the first things to look for when examining the college football bowl odds is the current form of the teams. Some teams are coming into the bowl game playing very well, while others are coming in flat or disappointed.

Motivation is a big key factor when it comes to looking at college football bowl betting lines, we also have to look at other things.

Schedule strength, turnovers, recent form, and overall team power ratings are things to consider as the bowl games begin. You also want to take the individual game odds into consideration.

Holiday Bowl History

From 1978 through 1994, this game always featured the WAC champion against an at-large or Big Ten team. Since 1995, it has matched the WAC champion or a Pac-10 team against a Big 12 team.

It's played in late December. Owned and operated by the city of San Diego, Qualcomm Stadium will blitz you with great football action! The Stadium was built in 1967 in response to the need for a big-league stadium for the San Diego Chargers of the NFL who were moving in from Los Angeles.

The San Diego State University Aztecs also compete here every year to capacity crowds. The Stadium has played host to two Super Bowls, two MLB All-Star games, and has hosted a couple of World Series games as well.

The Holiday Bowl also takes place here on an annual basis. The stadium also has hosted several motocross races and monster truck rallies, too.

2013 Holiday Bowl Champions and Game Score

The freshman threw for 403 yards and tied a Holiday Bowl record with four touchdown passes, and Texas Tech raced to a 37-23 victory over No. 14 Arizona State.

Texas Tech managed 403 of its 483 yards of offense through the air against the Sun Devils.
