Week 6 NCAA Football Predictions & College Betting Odds

College Football Week 6 Odds The first five weeks of the 2018 College football season are officially in the books and College football fans can hardly wait for this weeks College football betting action.

Week 6 NCAA football betting action has several intriguing matchups on the slate, as teams are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Some are full steam ahead to the College Football Playoff. Others have lost all hope. A few can still control their own Playoff destiny.

The oddsmakers have released their opening college football lines for most the matchups and with so many exciting games on tap for Week 6, we have uncovered a couple of golden opportunities on which to place a timely wager.

Last week, we were pretty darn good overall. Not saying you should have listened to us on your bets, just saying if you did, you would have beat your online sportsbook.

NCAA Football Week Six Game Previews - Thursday, October 4 - Saturday, October 6, 2018

Bet week 6 College Football PicksHeisman Trophy candidate Ed Oliver and the Houston Cougars get the honors of kicking off the Week 6 college football odds slate on ESPN Thursday night when they host the West division rival Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. They’ll be in revenge mode for this one after Tulsa pummeled them 45-17 as 14 point home dogs to log one of only two overall wins last season. The Cougars have won four of the six all-time meetings at home since the program’s became conference but have failed to cover each of the last four.

A trio of games are lined up to go under the Friday night lights in Week 6 with Georgia Tech set to invade Louisville to battle the Cardinals, Marshall hosting the MTSU Blue Raiders in a crucial CUSA East division clash and Utah State traveling to Provo, UT to lock horns with BYU at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

With this being the third weekend of the State Fair of Texas, it means it’s Red River Showdown time. That’s right folks! The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners will strap on their helmets and partake in the 113th installment of arguably the biggest rivalry of the college football betting season. OU has held the recent advantage in winning two straight as well as six of the last eight. However, the Longhorns have been the true winner having logged pointspread victories in each of the last five clashes. If UT is to give Boomer Sooner a run for the Big 12 title this season, this is the game Tom Herman’s kids have to win!

The ACC has a pair of huge games going down this week with the Florida State Seminoles set to do battle against the Hurricanes in Miami, and Notre Dame traveling to Blacksburg to tango with Justin Fuente’s Virginia Tech Hokies. The Canes put an end to their seven game losing streak to the Noles by stealing the game in the closing moments at the Doak last season. FSU has come out on top in each of their last six visits to Coral Gables. The Fighting Irish will be out to avenge a tough 34-31 defeat at home to the Hokies from a few years back. Both of these matchups make for riveting live betting action!

All eyes will be on the Swamp on Saturday when the LSU Tigers invade Gainesville for a date with the Florida Gators. These non-divisional SEC rivals have crossed paths every season dating back to 1997, and just about every game over the last 10 have been incredibly competitive. Save for the one-sided blowouts in 2008 and 2011, the other eight skirmishes were decided by an average of just 6.3 points per game. Florida’s been dogged in each of the last seven meetings, and stands 3-4 against the linemakers in those matchups with two defeats coming by a grand total of 1.5 points. Get your popcorn ready!

Another big one set to go down in the SEC Week 6 finds the Auburn Tigers traveling to Starkville to battle the revenge minded Mississippi State Bulldogs in a crucial SEC west tilt. Gus Malzahn’s troops laid the hammer down last season smacking #HailState 49-10 as touchdown home chalk to secure a second straight beat down of the Bulldogs. Miss State is 2-1 straight up and against the spread the last three times it hosted this rivalry, but this will be a tough spot a week removed from running up against their former coach and the Florida Gators the previous week. Oh yeah, LSU’s on deck after the bye.

The Washington Huskies will be out to take back-to-back games from the UCLA Bruins when they travel to the Rose Bowl looking to put an end to their eight game losing streak in the venue. If ever there was a season for U-Dub to finally get the job done, this is it! Other notable games going down in the Pac-12 include a potential shootout in the desert between Cal and Arizona, and an all-out brawl in Stanford Stadium between the Utes and Cardinal.

The heavy hitters in the Big Ten all find themselves at home in Week 6 with the Ohio State Buckeyes hosting the Indiana Hoosiers, the Michigan Wolverines hosting the Maryland Terrapins, and the Michigan State Spartans welcoming Northwestern into East Lansing. They’ll all be decided chalk and should find a way to at the very least come out on the winning side of the scoreboard.

Fans of the Mountain West Conference will no doubt be tuning into the matchup that pits the San Diego State Aztecs up against the Boise State Broncos. Each ranks out amongst the favorites to win the conference this season, and the Aztecs will no doubt be salty dogs after getting held to just 14 points in a 17 point home loss last season.
