NCAA Football Week 13 Game Previews - Tuesday, November 20 - Saturday, November 24, 2018

The final loaded week of the college football betting season is upon us. My how time flies when you’re having fun! It’s hard to believe that three months have already gone by, and the bowl season is right around the corner. But enough reminiscing, let’s get into the schedule breakdown of the Week 13 betting lines – otherwise known as rivalry week!

MACtion will hog the Tuesday night spotlight for the final time in the regular season when Ball State/Miami Ohio and Northern Illinois/Western Michigan exchange punches. Two games are lined up on Thanksgiving with Colorado State/Air Force going in the afternoon and the 115th installment of the Egg Bowl lined up for the evening with Mississippi State and Ole Miss set to duke it out in Oxford. The Rebels have won and covered three of the last four with the under cashing in four of the last five.

The greatest thing about waking up the Friday morning after Thanksgiving is the heaping load of college pigskin available to sink our teeth into. No, it’s not waiting in lines on Black Friday! A total of 15 games are set to kickoff that will be happy to entertain as you recover from the hangovers. Both from the booze and turkey.

Friday highlights include the Big Ten matchup between Iowa and Nebraska which has become synonymous with the final day of the regular season. This year’s installment will take place in Kinnick Stadium where the Hawkeyes have only held serve once the three times they hosted Big Red as conference rivals. Nebraska has incurred back-to-back woodshed beatings against the Hawkeyes the last two seasons, so it will be interesting to see what the Scott Frost led version has up its sleeve this time around.

Both the Border War and Apple Cup will take place in the afternoon and primetime with Oregon set to invade Corvalis looking to continue its recent dominance of the Beavers ( 9-1 SU L/10 ), while the Huskies will be out to snag their sixth straight win and fifth straight triumph against the college football betting odds against Washington State.

The right to call themselves Big 12 champions could be for the taking when the Oklahoma Sooners and West Virginia Mountaineers get it on from Morgantown in ESPN’s showcase game of the night. This rivalry has seen all one-way traffic since its inception with OU taking it to WVU in all six of their tussles as conference rivals. The Mounty’s were competitive in the first two, but Boomer Sooner has cruised to four straight wins and covered each pointspread with ease winning by an average of 22.0 points per game!

Rivalry Week continues on Saturday with a number of must-see matchups. We’ll start off with the tilt between Notre Dame and USC. These historic programs have alternated double-digit wins against each other each of the last four seasons. The Fighting Irish turned the trick last season pounding the Trojans unmercifully 49-14 as 3.5 point South Bend favorites. USC will no doubt be out to return the favor in Week 13, and they’ll likely garner plenty of college football betting attention with it 2-0 SU and ATS the last couple times it hosted this matchup.

Since the Clemson Tigers have risen to national prominence, the South Carolina Gamecocks have been no match for Dabo’s kids the final week of the regular season. The Cocks have dropped four straight and managed a lone pointspread cover. That coming back in 2015 when it gave the Tigers a scare as near three touchdown underdogs. Clemson’s defense has held SC to a grand total of 24 points the last two times it paid Memorial Stadium a visit. The Tigers easily covered each contest after dropping 35 and 56 points on South Carolina’s heads. Will the third time be the charm for Will Muschamp who you know is chomping at the bit to finally show up in this rivalry.

Florida/Florida State should be a bloody brawl, while Georgia Tech/Georgia should be highly entertaining. But the one game everyone will be lined up to see will be the Iron Bowl matchup between the Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide. By beating the defending national champs in this matchup last season, Auburn went on to compete in the SEC title game. Thankfully for Nick Saban’s crew, they lost; which allowed Bama to get into the CFP. The Crimson Tide have won seven of the last 10 meetings with both clubs snaring five covers against the pointspread. Bama covered the following season the previous two times it was defeated dating back to 2011. They’ve also won three straight in Tuscaloosa ( 2-1 ATS ) where the under has cashed seven of the last 10 times.

We’ll close out our Week 13 coverage with one of the nastiest and most hateful rivalries in all of college football. Coaches have been fired if they weren’t able to routinely show up for it. Players were benched if they continued to cost the program wins. The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes flat out despise one another. There’s simply no other way to put it. Jim Harbaugh is yet to lead the maize and blue to a win in this rivalry since taking over the reins in Ann Arbor. Urban Meyer has never lost to Michigan since taking over head coaching duties in Columbus. That’s six years! Something will have to give this time around when the Wolverines invade the Horseshoe looking to avenge the 31-20 defeat suffered at home last season. Michigan has covered four of the last five meetings with the over cashing in each. Maybe the Wolverines should bring their defense to the party this time around. Maybe then the end result will be more to their liking.

NCAA Football Betting Predictions / Saturday, November 24, 2018 Picks

Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Buckeyes, Alumni Stadium – 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Opening Line: Boston College -7, O/U 57

Preview: Jim Harbaugh is yet to defeat Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes since taking over the Michigan Wolverines program back in 2015. However, the closest he came to securing a win in ‘The Game’ at top rated sportsbooks came back in 2016 which just so happens to be the last time the maize and blue ventured into the Horseshoe. Should he finally get over the hump on Saturday in the program’s quasi-B1G title game, it would likely cement the Wolverines placement into the CFP for the first time in program history. Easier said than done however with Michigan logging just one win in Columbus since the turn of the century. Continue...

Auburn Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide, Bryant-Denny Stadium – 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS)

Opening Line:  Alabama -24, 52

Preview: The Alabama Crimson Tide only managed to score 14 points in last year’s Iron Bowl loss to the hated Auburn Tigers. They lost that game by 12 points as 5 point road favorites to see their three game win streak in the recent rivalry go up in smoke. With a perfect 11-0 record in tow and a solid 7-4 mark versus linemakers at top rated sportsbooks, it’s safe to say the defending national champions will be going all out to avenge that loss and keep their perfect mark intact. Especially after playing possum for a half against The Citadel last week. Continue...

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. USC Trojans, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum – 8:00 p.m. ET (ABC)

Opening Line: Notre Dame -8, 53.5

Preview: So it all comes down to this. Win this game, and the No. 3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish will secure a spot in the College Football Playoffs for the first time in program history. In order to see it all the way through, Brian Kelly’s kids must win in a venue it’s only come out on top in three times in its last 10 visits. On top of that, the USC Trojans thumped the Irish in each of their last two treks to So Cal. Unlike last week, the betting public thinks they get the job done with the betting line swaying in ND’s favor since opening at the best offshore sportsbooks. Continue...
