Birmingham Bowl Prediction - South Florida vs South Carolina Odds

Birmingham Bowl Odds Venue: Birmingham Bowl

When: Thursday, December 29, 2016 - 2 p.m. ET / ESPN

Where: Birmingham's Legion Field - Birmingham, Ala.

Who: South Florida Bulls vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Birmingham Bowl isn't exactly a premier destination for SEC teams, but the AAC only had a couple teams picked to go to bowl games before the South Florida Bulls. USF has a fantastic, budding program and would love to cap off this season with an 11th win at the expense of the South Carolina Gamecocks, one of the last teams picked for a bowl game in the SEC.

The Bulls and Gamecocks are polar opposite teams, and that should make this one interesting. South Florida gets up to the line of scrimmage as fast as it can and uses its superior athletes, led by quarterback Quinton Flowers to put points on the board in a hurry. The team posted at least 30 points in every game this season. South Carolina meanwhile, scored 30 just three times, that coming against Massachusetts, Missouri and Western Carolina. Needless to say, this is going to be tough for Will Muschamp's team to keep up if USF is playing at a high level offensively, and even if it isn't, the Gamecocks are going to have to do something they didn't do a lot of this year just to have any shot: Score points.

Well you've come to the right place, as we get set to preview each college bowl and picks on this year's BBVA Compass Bowl game.

Opening Line: South Florida -11

Preview: We've been saying this all season long, but the South Florida Bulls might be the best team in America you don't really know a whole heck of a lot about. Oregon though, definitely noticed, as it snared Willie Taggart as its head coach from USF. If the Bulls remain motivated, they shouldn't have a problem taking care of the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Birmingham Bowl to wrap up what would be an 11-win season. Continue...
