March Madness Basketball Odds - 2017 NCAA Tournament Predictions

Bet March Madness OddsIt's definitely March, but we haven't seen the same type of "madness" yet that we're used to seeing at this level. The highest seed to advance into the Round of 32 was No. 12 Middle Tennessee, and the Blue Raiders were actually favored to win the game. The mass majority of the chalk held up; 27 of the 31 games with a point spread aside from a pick 'em resulted in SU victories. The biggest upset came when #11 USC took out #6 SMU, making it six consecutive years that one team out of the First Four was able to pull off an upset in the second round of the tourney.

Alas, what all of that means is that we have a heck of a second round in front of us with a lot of juicy matchups. There's no such thing as a team that has a de facto bye, and outside of perhaps Duke over South Carolina (game off the board as of the publication of this article), there won't be a team that opens up at greater than -10. This is the time of year that the odds really start to tighten up, so every single point you can get on your side counts.

NCAA Tournament Second Round, Sunday, March 19, 2017

#2 Louisville vs. #7 Michigan, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 12:10 p.m. ET ( CBS )

Opening Line: Louisville -3, O/U 139.5

Preview: And the beat keeps on for the Michigan Wolverines. This is probably the make-or-break game for the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region. They've already played five games in eight days, and coming back with just a day of rest to play against an incredibly physical Louisville Cardinals team will ultimately tell the tale as to whether this is a Final Four caliber club or not. Continue...

#2 Kentucky vs. #10 Wichita State, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 2:40 p.m. ET ( CBS )

Opening Line: Check Back Later

Preview: Oh, the irony that the NCAA Tournament provides us with sometimes! Three years ago, Gregg Marshall's Wichita State Shockers were an undefeated No. 1 seed. They ran into a what turned out to be a juggernaut of a Kentucky Wildcats team in the second round that was highly underrated and ended up going on to the National Championship Game. The Shockers have been relevant since then, but they haven't been anywhere near that good. All of the names and faces have changed between these two teams on the floor since then, but don't think for one second the Shockers won't want to exact some big time revenge on the Wildcats in the same second round of the dance their dream ended in three years ago. Continue...

#1 Kansas vs. #9 Michigan State, BOK Center, 5:15 p.m. ET ( CBS )

Opening Line: Check Back Later

Preview: History will tell you that No. 9 seeds don't exactly have a great time in the dance against No. 1 seeds. They're just 5-59 SU all-time. But the Kansas Jayhawks aren't looked upon as your average No. 1 seed, nor are the Michigan State Spartans playing anything like a No. 9 seed. This is going to be an incredibly trendy upset pick on Sunday. Continue...

#1 North Carolina vs. #8 Arkansas, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, 6:10 p.m. ET ( CBS )

Opening Line: North Carolina -10, O/U 160.5

Preview: Thursday's No. 1 seeds who played against No. 16 seeds both messed around with their foes for 20 minutes before ultimately turning the table upside down in the second half and running away with victories. On Friday, the North Carolina Tar Heels took absolutely no prisoners against Texas Southern. They were up by 14 not even eight minutes into the game and never looked back. Now, they're amongst the biggest favorites on the board to get into the Sweet 16 when they take on the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks. Continue...

#3 Oregon vs. #11 Rhode Island, Golden 1 Center, 7:10 p.m. ET ( TBS )

Opening Line: Oregon -4.5, O/U 138.5

Preview: The Oregon Ducks were really expected to struggle with Chris Boucher out for the rest of the season after he got hurt in the Pac-12 Tournament. Someone forgot to tell that to the Ducks. They made incredibly short work of Iona in the opening round of the dance, and now, they're getting yet another double-digit seed to deal with on Sunday in the form of the Rhode Island Rams. Continue...

#3 Baylor vs. #11 USC, BOK Center, 7:45 p.m. ET ( truTV )

Opening Line: Baylor -6.5, O/U 143

Preview: It continues to happen every single season. One team who plays in the First Four ends up making at least the second round of the NCAA Tournament. This year, it was the USC Trojans who have gotten the job done and made it out of Dayton to get into the first weekend of the dance. This is always a challenge though, and this is three games in five days for the Men of Troy and five in a week and a half. The Baylor Bears have to be licking their chops. Continue...

#2 Duke vs. #7 South Carolina, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, 8:40 p.m. ET ( TBD )

Opening Line: Check Back Later

Preview: The Duke Blue Devils continue to look like one of the scariest teams in America. Two days after making incredibly short work out of Troy, they're going to be back on the floor against another team they'll be expected to paste, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Continue...

#3 UCLA vs. #6 Cincinnati, Golden 1 Center, 9:40 p.m. ET ( TBS )

Opening Line: Check Back Later

Preview: If you like a clash in styles of play, you've come to the right place on Sunday. The UCLA Bruins are one of the fastest paced teams in America, and they lead the nation in scoring. They put up 97 points against a good defensive team in Kent State on Friday. But now, they've got to contend with one of the slowest paced teams in the nation and one that ranks No. 5 in scoring defense, the Cincinnati Bearcats. Continue...
