Chicagoland 300 Picks and Preview

Auto Racing Futures

The last three spots in the Xfinity Series playoffs will be set on Saturday, as the Chicagoland 300 takes place on NBCSN. Nine drivers have already clinched spots, so three spots remain. Seven Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers will be crossing over and pulling double duty this weekend and they will get most of the betting attention. Kyle Larson is the big name among the Cup Series drivers in the race and he should go off as the favorite.

Xfinity Series Playoff Race

William Byron leads the Xfinity Series with three wins this season. He is followed by Justin Allgaier, Ryan Reed and Jeremy Clements who also have wins. Elliott Sadler has yet to win a race but he leads the points. Behind Sadler are Brennan Poole, Daniel Hemric, Cole Custer and Matt Tifft. The last three spots are currently held by Blake Koch, Michael Annett and Brendan Gaughan. Just outside of a playoff spot is Dakoda Armstrong who is just 25 points behind Gaughan and 26 behind Annett. The rest of the drivers would almost assuredly need to win this race to get into the playoffs if they are in the top 20 in points.

Top Contenders

The seven Cup Series drivers crossing over should get the most betting attention, led by Kyle Larson. He is having a great season in the top series and he is the clear choice to win this race. The other Cup Series drivers in this race are Austin and Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones, Ryan Blaney and Corey LaJoie. Of those six drivers, a case could be made for Blaney, as he is having a strong rookie season in the top series and not to be forgotten is Jones, who won this race last year.

Race Notes

Kyle Busch has the most wins in this race with four, while Kevin Harvick has three wins. Joe Gibbs Racing has six wins in this race to lead all teams, while Toyota has the most manufacturer wins with six.

Larson is the clear choice to win this race, so I will make him my top pick. I will also go with Blaney as my second pick.
