IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen Picks

IndyCar Racing Odds

Will Power and Scott Dixon are the top two betting choices to win Sunday’s IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen that can be seen on NBCSN. Both drivers have work to do, as they trail Josef Newgarden in the driver standings with just two races remaining. Dixon is 31 points behind in second place, while Power is 83 points behind in fifth place. Power is listed at +350 to win Sunday’s race, while Dixon is listed at +400.

Let’s look at Sunday’s race, IndyCar odds and IndyCar picks.

Top Contenders

Five drivers are listed at single-digit odds, although the top four of Power, Dixon, Newgarden and Pagenaud are clearly in front of Castroneves. Power has been excellent at Watkins Glen in the past with three wins and five poles. It is no surprise he is listed as the slight favorite. Dixon has won this race four times, including last season, so it is easy to make a case for him winning on Sunday.

Newgarden has the points lead but I think he is overvalued this week, especially considering what happened last week at the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 where he bumped-passed teammate Pagenaud to get the win. Newgarden has never won at Watkins Glen and I don’t think he wins on Sunday.

If you are going to take anyone outside of the top five then perhaps Ryan Hunter-Reay is worth a shot at +2000. "We've had unfortunate circumstances this year," Hunter-Reay said the Buffalo News. "When you consider that we had a shot to win the Indy 500 again and the car died on me. At Long Beach it was the same thing with the car dying. Yeah, we're looking for a break-though win at The Glen that is very much needed at this point."

IndyCar Picks

This is a must-win race for Power so I will take him as my top choice. There is no question you can also make a case for Dixon, so it should come down to one of those two for the win on Sunday. I don’t know that any of the longshots have any realistic chance but Hunter-Reay might be worth a flyer at +2000.
