UFC Fight Night 117 Predictions - Anzai vs. Jumeau

UFC Fight Night 117 Betting Odds

Shinsho Anzai takes on Luke Jumeau at UFC Fight Night 117 in Japan in a fight that can be seen on Friday night on FXX. Anzai is 9-2 overall, including 1-1 in the UFC, while Jumeau is 12-3, including 1-0 in the UFC. This fight is one of four bouts on the FXX preliminary card, leading up to a six-fight main card that features Ovince Saint Preux vs. Yushin Okami. Let’s look at Anzai vs. Jumeau UFC picks.

Bet UFC Fight Night 117

Anzai vs. Jumeau

Anzai is coming off a win, as he defeated Roger Zapata by TKO in September of 2015. This will be the first fight for Anzai since that victory, as he has been out due to a back injury. He is a 31-year old Japanese fighter who made his UFC debut in August of 2014 and lost to Alberto Mina. Anzai has won seven of his last eight bouts overall, with five of those eight wins coming by knockout.

Jumeau signed with the UFC this year and defeated Dominique Steele in his debut in October. The win over Steele was the seventh in a row for Jumeau who made his debut in 2008. He has five wins by knockout and four by submission. He has four first round finishes. Jumeau had the nickname of Jedi but he prefers to be called “Juggernaut” because of his natural strength.

UFC Picks

The question in this fight is what type of shape Anzai is in. He hasn’t been seen in two years and that is a long layoff in any sport. Jumeau looked pretty good in the win over Steele but that is the only UFC action he has seen. I lean a little bit toward Anzai in this fight and to taking the rounds to go under.

UFC Fight Night 117 takes place on Saturday, September 23 at Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan and will air live on FXX on Friday, September 22 in the United States. There are six fights on the main card on FXX, featuring Ovince Saint Preux vs. Yushin Okami and five preliminary bouts, with four on FXX and one on UFC Fight Pass.
