UFC 206 Odds and Picks - Max Holloway vs. Anthony Pettis

UFC 206 Live Lines

UFC 206 takes place on Saturday night with the feature bout having Max Holloway taking on Anthony Pettis. This fight is for the interim featherweight title with the winner taking on Jose Aldo next year. Holloway vs. Pettis is one of 12 on the UFC 206 card that takes place from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The top two fights on the main card have Holloway vs. Pettis and Donald Cerrone vs. Matt Brown. Let’s look at Holloway vs. Pettis and UFC picks.

Holloway -170 vs. Pettis

Holloway has won his last nine fights and has not lost since he was beaten by Conor McGregor in August of 2013. He has finished six of his last nine fights and received three bonuses. “I don’t care about this nine-fight win streak. Every time I go in, me and my time, we’re 0-0 and we’re looking to become 1-0.” Holloway said, “This nine-fight win streak or whatever, I can, this window of fighting is tiny, this small little window is like maybe 10-12 years if you’re lucky or past that if you’re luckier. We’re fighting for a small window.”

UFC 206 was supposed to have a main event of Daniel Cormier against Anthony Johnson but Johnson got hurt so Holloway vs. Pettis was moved up to the main event. The winner of this fight will get Jose Aldo for the undisputed UFC featherweight title sometime next year.

Pettis realizes that he is going against a fighter in Holloway who is red-hot. “Max Holloway is the guy that is on a tear right now and is probably the next guy that was going to fight for the title at 145 pounds.” Pettis said, “That’s why I set my goals and eyes on him. I want to fight Max Holloway and get to that position he is in. He took the fight, and here we are.” Holloway is 16-3 in his career while Pettis is 19-5.

UFC Picks

Holloway has simply been untouchable recently and while Pettis is a good fighter he may not be on the level of Holloway. I will take Holloway to get the win. The rounds option could also be worth a look as the rounds are set at 2.5 over. It seems very likely that this fight goes the distance so I will also take the rounds over.

UFC 206 takes place on Saturday, December 10th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the coverage on pay-per-view, FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
