If not for incurring a sickening last second defeat to the Detroit Lions and following it up with a tie against the Bengals across the pond, Washington would be looking to claim the division lead in this spot. Regardless, Jay Gruden’s squad hits the road for this crucial tilt playing some real good ball after taking down both Minnesota and Green Bay in successive weeks.
While the defense has given up its fair share of yardage and points over this most recent win streak, the heady play of Kirk Cousins has allowed Washington to overcome it. After gouging a pretty darn good Vikings defense for 262 yards and a couple touchdowns, he ripped the Packers apart for 375 yards and three more scores. The fifth year field general has only thrown seven total interceptions all season, one of which in his last four starts.
Dallas looked to be up against it early on against the Ravens who took a 7-0 lead with them into the second quarter. But with Jimmy Smith unavailable for Baltimore, Dallas started to pick away at the Ravens defense and started to successfully move the ball up and down the field. Dak Prescott ended up having himself a game throwing for 301 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. The rookie standout has now tallied 17 touchdown passes to just two interceptions.
Not to be outdone, Ezekiel Elliott broke Tony Dorsett’s rookie rushing record off 1,007 by racking up the most rushing yards against the Ravens all season. Baltimore entered the game giving up 76 rushing yards per game. Elliot went for 97 yards to give him 1,102 for the season. Dallas started 8-0 and went on to win the Super Bowl when Dorsett set his record. This year’s team looks to be headed down that same path.
Washington took a 23-20 lead with them into the fourth quarter of these rival’s Week 2 meeting in D.C. Dallas scored the only points of the fourth quarter to log the 27-23 outright win as 3.5 point underdogs. It was Prescott’s second career start, and he completed 22-of-30 passes for 292 yards without a touchdown or interception thrown. Elliott rumbled for 83 yards and a score, while Dez Bryant hauled in seven receptions for 102 yards. Neither offense had any issues moving the ball up and down the field with Cousins going for 364 yards but only a 1:1 TD/INT ratio.
The win moved the Cowboys to 3-1 SU and ATS in the last four meetings with the over cashing in all three of their triumphs. All three wins occurred on the road. Not to be outdone, Washington has come out on top of their last two visits to AT&T Stadium with the under cashing in each of their last three.

The schedule makers have put Washington in a bad spot here forcing them to hit the road on a short week to face a division opponent that gets to remain in the comforts of their own homes for the next week. Regardless, I’ve loved the fight the Skins have exhibited all season as they continue to play with a chip on their shoulders for the media and linemakers giving them no love on the preseason futures odds at Bookmaker.eu.
While you’ve been better off taking a match to any money put down fading Dallas this season, Washington matches up well with its division rivals and has the offense in place to take advantage. Look for some points to be scored and for the Cowboys win streak to be threatened.
