Ravens vs. Patriots TV Coverage: ESPN
The Ravens head into this Week 14 clash off one of their most impressive showings of the season after drubbing Miami 38-6 to cruise to the comfy home win and cover as 3.5 point favorites. Joe Flacco was incredible throwing for 381 yards and four touchdowns, and he looks to be in line for another good showing with New England certainly beatable through the air. Russell Wilson got to them for 348 yards and three touchdowns on SNF a few weeks back.
Baltimore owns one of the best defenses in the league with it conceding just 296.1 total yards per game (No. 1) and 17.2 points per game (No. 2). However, it’s had issues with some of the better offenses in the league. It dropped a 28-27 decision to Oakland at home and allowed Derek Carr to throw four touchdown passes. It also fell 27-17 at Dallas and conceded over 400 yards to the Cowboys dynamic rookie duo. They’re going to have to step their game up big time in this one to take down the Hoodie.
Since dropping a 31-24 decision to the Seahawks as 7.5 point favorites, the Patriots have sleepwalked their way to three straight wins against the 49ers, Jets and Rams. Having taken on such a low caliber of opponents over the last three weeks, it’s certainly plausible to question whether they’ll be ready for this game or not. But if ever there was a team that can just flip the switch, it’s New England.
En route to winning 10 of their 12 overall games and seven of eight with Tom Brady under center, the Patriots have been one of the biggest money makers in the league compiling a 9-3 record against the closing pointspread. They covered as 13 point favorites against the Rams last week and have alternated pointspread wins and losses over the last month. The Pats stand 4-2 straight up and against the spread as hosts to date.
Player to Watch
Justin Tucker – It’s rare you’d ever find a kickers name in this section, but Tucker is simply unconscious right now. Seriously, if the Ravens offense finds a way to get within 50 yards of the end zone, they’re already assured a guaranteed three points. Tucker has converted all 28 of his field goal attempts this season, and enters this game having successfully booted 55+ yard field goals in each of his last two games. He converted a 57-yarder a couple weeks back and is playing with tons of swagger and confidence right now. It wouldn’t shock me in the least to see him nail the game winner at the gun.

Whenever these two teams hook up, I take the points. Considering New England has gone off the board favored on the odds at BookMaker.eu in nine of the last 10 meetings, it’s the Ravens I’m always backing. I don’t know what it is, but Baltimore simply loves playing in Gillette. They’re 2-3 straight up in their last five visits dating back to 2010, but stand 4-0-1 against the spread in those contests.
With Brady down a major target with Gronk out of commission, it makes the defenses job a bit easier. LeGarrette Blount won’t have much success on the ground, and you know Terrell Suggs and company will be bringing the pain. Though Baltimore looks to be the square side with better than 60 percent of the tickets written riding them, the public has to win sometimes and I think they have this one pegged. Sprinkle a unit on the moneyline as well and look for the Ravens to once again give the Patriots all they can handle in their home digs.
