The Packers still have Aaron Rodgers and they are scoring plenty of points but they have no running game and even though Rodgers has good numbers, they are not great numbers. For Green Bay to win they need Rodgers to be great because the defense has been awful. Rodgers does have a good trio of receivers in Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. The Packers might get tight end Jared Cook back this week and he would help. He hasn’t played since Week 3. Rodgers has thrown 22 TDs and just 7 interceptions but his yards per attempt at 6.5 is the lowest of his career.
Washington cornerback Josh Norman said that he doesn’t want to hear all of the talk about Rodgers not playing well. "What I'm concerned about is facing a cerebral quarterback that can light you up at any time," Norman said. "Yeah, I'm sure they're going to come in hungry. They took a pretty bad beating last week, they really did. I don't feel like they're going to come in here and lay this thing down. They're going to come out here fiery hot.”
The Packers badly need linebacker Clay Matthews who has missed the past three games. All indications are that Matthews will return for this game and he makes a huge difference.
The Redskins have a good offense that is getting better thanks to Robert Kelley who has taken over as the starting running back. Kelley has 60 carries this season and has negative yards on just two carries. “The first thing you have to like about Robert is there aren’t many negative plays,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said. “There were other plays where it looked like there was nothing there and all of the sudden, 2nd-and-7. And those are huge.”
The Packers are 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings against the Redskins. The Packers have been a good road team going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games. They have struggled in November though going 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games in November. The Redskins are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
Green Bay has gone under in 14 of their last 19 vs. the NFC. Washington has gone over in their last seven home games.
