Let’s take a look at some of the draft props BookMaker.eu has posted and see if there are some opportunities to make some money off of them.
2017 NFL Draft

2017 NFL DRAFT - WILL MYLES GARRETT BE THE 1ST PICK IN THE 2017 NFL DRAFT?
The last time a defensive player with the skills exhibited by Garrett was passed over in the NFL Draft, it was the Jacksonville Jaguars who did the deed. They inexplicably selected Blaine Gabbert over J.J. Watt in the 2011 NFL Draft. While it was the No. 10 pick and not the first, I can’t help but think the Browns will do the right thing on Thursday night and select the Texas A&M Aggies ferocious pass rusher. If you’ve got some money to burn, lay the heavy chalk – it looks to be money in the bank.
2017 NFL DRAFT - TOTAL QUARTERBACKS DRAFTED IN THE 1ST ROUND?
3.5 Over +155
3.5 Under -185
Both representatives in Super Bowl LI had Pro Bowl caliber field generals leading the offensive attacks with Tom Brady and Matt Ryan under center for the Patriots and Falcons respectively. UNC’s Mitch Trubisky and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson look to be the cream of the crop, but there are some other nice impact players at the position like Patrick Mahomes III, DeShone Kizer, and even Davis Webb.
This draft is loaded with defensive talent in all three fronts, so it’s not likely that teams with high draft picks look the way of a quarterback even though teams like Cleveland and San Francisco sorely need one. That said, I expect the field generals of this draft to start going off in the teens all the way up into the 30s.
Ben Roethlisberger isn’t getting any younger or healthier. Cashing the over on this prop will likely come down to the Pittsburgh Steelers snagging a quarterback, and I think there’s a very high probability they take a shot with either Kizer or Mahomes III should they still be on the board. Hit the over at a nice +$$$ return.
2017 NFL DRAFT - WILL AT LEAST ONE TEAM TRADE UP TO SELECT ONE OF THE FIRST 10 OVERALL PICKS?
I’m truly shocked to see “No” the favored side in this prop bet. From what I’ve been reading, the San Francisco 49ers have as many as eight players on their draft board that they’d actually select with the No. 2 pick. With that the case, it only makes perfect sense to see them improve their draft stock by trading out of the pick.
Should they not allow us to cash that ticket, the team in the No. 3 slot – the Chicago Bears – just might bring home the bacon. With Ryan Pace unconscionably throwing a ton of money to bring Mike Glennon in as his QB1, the Bears likely aren’t looking to snag their quarterback of the future this early in the draft. They already have a ton of young unproven talent on the offensive side of the ball, and will likely be going defense with this pick if they make it. They can likely still trade down and land the secondary help they desire.
A team is no doubt going to reach for a player in this weak draft, and the Bears or Niners would make for perfect trading partners. Don’t be shocked if someone moves up to snag Trubisky.
2017 NFL DRAFT - NUMBER OF ALABAMA PLAYERS DRAFTED IN ROUND 1?
4.5 Over -120
4.5 Under -110
Tuscaloosa has been a breeding ground for NFL talent ever since Nick Saban made his home there. A least one member of the Crimson Tide has been drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft since 2009. Last year, only one player was drafted in the first round – C Ryan Kelly – but there is a ton of talent bolting from for the draft from last year’s runner up.
I see a minimum of five candidates that will get drafted in the first round, so naturally, I’m leaning towards laying the -120 juice and hitting the over. The first Bama player to get snagged could be DE Jonathan Allen who is just what an improving Jacksonville Jaguars defense needs, but if he doesn’t go early due to injury concerns, he won’t be on the board much longer.
O.J. Howard just might be that difference maker at the tight end position cut from the same cloth as Rob Gronkowski or Jimmy Graham. He’ll be going off in the first round. LB Reuben Foster, OT Cam Robinson and CB Marlon Humphrey each also look to be surefire first round selections. Look for a return to prominence for the University of Alabama in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft – hit the over!
2017 NFL DRAFT - LEONARD FOURNETTE, RB, LSU 2017 NFL DRAFT 1ST ROUND PICK POSITION?
4.5 Over -115
4.5 Under -115
There’s one team and one team only that looks to be a perfect fit for the injury-riddled back out of LSU, and that’s the Jacksonville Jaguars whose offense sorely needs someone capable to tote the rock out of the backfield and relieve the immense pressure put upon QB Blake Bortles and the passing offense. The Jags flamed out in a big way last season mostly due to the offense failing to live up to lofty preseason expectations.
Instead, it was the defense that allowed for them to compete in most games. What that unit sorely needs is someone to give them a break on the sideline every once in a while. Fournette could be exactly what the offense has been missing, and his only shot of going in the first four picks is if Jacksonville wises up to that truth and selects him.
He isn’t going to Cleveland and the Niners are either trading down or looking elsewhere. Chicago’s set in its backfield. That leaves only the Jags that can cash this ticket in my opinion. After rushing for an average of just 101.9 yards per game ( No. 23 ) at 4.2 yards per carry ( No. 17 ) last season, it’s quite clear this franchise is sorely in need of a difference maker in the backfield. Fournette’s that guy – hit the under!
