For the third straight week, the Falcons took a lead with them into the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers. Only this time, they were able to hold on for the win after the Seahawks and Chargers got the best of them previously. Ryan hit Mohamed Sanu for an 11 yard touchdown strike with just 31 seconds remaining, and the defense stiffened preventing Aaron Rodgers and company to hand them a third straight bitter defeat.
The win now finds the Falcons all alone atop the division standings, but a fourth straight defeat to the Buccaneers would muddy the waters. Atlanta owns a rock solid 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS record as a visitor to date with the lone defeat coming against the Seahawks in a game that saw questionable calls prevent them from pulling the win out. The league’s top ranked total and scoring offense should once again be able to add to its 31.8 point per game scoring average when away from the dome.
The Bucs had the Raiders beat last week, but Oakland proved to once again be Road Warriors after tying the game up with just over a minute and a half remaining. It then went on to hand Tampa Bay its third straight loss at home in the extra session when a routine tackle was missed and Seth Roberts was able to scamper into the end zone for the game winning score.
It was yet another tough to swallow defeat for Dirk Koetter and his staff in front of the hometown faithful. Surprisingly, Tampa Bay has won and covered three of its four road games, but remains winless both SU and ATS when in the supposed comforts of its own home. After allowing Derek Carr to throw for an obscene 513 yards and four touchdowns last week, the defense will once again have its hands full with the Falcons potent aerial attack.
0.8 – The Falcons rank No. 3 in the league in the giveaway department. Ryan and his mates have done a fabulous job of protecting the pigskin. With that, they’ve won a number of close games. The same can’t be said of the Bucs who’ve coughed up the pigskin nearly two times per game. For Winston and his mates to have any shot of winning this game, holding onto possession of the pigskin will be paramount. It must play even or beat the Falcons in the turnover battle to cover this impost.

Winston threw for just 180 yards and two touchdowns against the league’s No. 28 ranked pass defense last week. How Tampa Bay even held a late lead with that kind of output is beyond me. In comes the Falcons No. 27 ranked pass defense that just allowed Rodgers to gouge it for 246 yards and four touchdowns. Jameis didn’t put forth exceptional numbers against this pass defense in a pair of meetings last season, but he was efficient in leading the Bucs to victory. If he can mimic or better that output, Tampa Bay will have a shot at extending its win streak against the NFL odds at BookMaker.eu versus Atlanta.
I don’t foresee it occurring however. Tampa Bay just isn’t cut from the same cloth as that of the Falcons who looks to be determined to get back to the playoffs after a three year hiatus. Atlanta possesses the more balanced offense and a comparable defense. Look for it to ride it to the win and cover on Thursday night.
