It’s hard to believe, but the Colts offensive line has actually regressed in 2016. Andrew Luck was forced to run for his life a year ago, and was likely relieved when he suffered a season ending injury. It’s been even worse however this season with the Colts allowing him to get dropped 4.0 times per game up 1.7 sacks per game from last year’s output.
The Chicago Bears had only compiled six sacks through four games heading into last week’s showdown at Lucas Oil Stadium. When the dust cleared on that game, Luck was sacked five times and pressured countless others. Though the Texans are without the services of J.J Watt, it still puts ample pressure on opposing quarterbacks ranking No. 9 with 2.6 per game. It’s a must for Indy’s O-Line to step up to the plate to give the team a shot at winning this game.
Think its possible Houston’s upper brass is regretting the move made in the offseason to bring Brock Osweiler in as their QB1? It likely hurts even more with how well Brian Hoyer has performed since taking over the starting reigns in Chicago. He’s currently ranked as the No. 32 quarterback among the 35 that qualified per Pro Football Focus.
The Texans passing offense ranks No. 29 in the league with an average of just 208.6 yards per game. Fantasy owners of DeAndre Hopkins have hated Osweiler every step of the way with him refusing to target his best option with regularity. It makes absolutely no sense that Nuk has just 22 receptions through the first five games. If that doesn’t change against the Colts No. 28 ranked pass defense, it might never!
These teams hooked up in Houston in Week 5 of last season in a game the Texans embarrassingly lost 27-20 as 4.5 point favorites with Matt Hasselbeck leading the Colts offense. The Texans had no problem moving the ball through the air led by DeAndre Hopkins’ 11 receptions for 169 yards. Losing the turnover battle proved to be the home team’s undoing.
The Texans finally snapped their six game losing streak to the Colts in the rematch by going into Indianapolis and coming out with the ugly 16-10 outright win as 2 point underdogs. The win moved the Texans to just 3-7 SU and 2-7-1 ATS in the last 10 overall meetings.

Houston has been the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team when playing at home and on the road through the first five weeks of the season. When on the road, the results have been ugly with Bill O’Brien’s squad dropping 27-0 and 31-13 decisions to the Patriots and Vikings respectively. At home however, they’re a perfect 3-0 SU and ATS with wins against the closing NFL odds at BookMaker.eu versus Chicago, Kansas City and Tennessee.
Chicago had the Colts on the ropes last week but failed to come through. If not for the Chargers once again coughing up a late lead in Week 3, Indy might have entered this tilt a one-win team. This is a game the Texans must have. It’s at home and in front of a national TV audience. The last time they played in the spotlight, they got goose egged in New England. This could be the game Osweiler silences his critics with the Colts unable to bring pressure or stop opposing pass offenses.
