It's easy to look at the tarnish resume Washington now has and throw the rest of it out. That said, the team has already played four of its five road games, it got picked off in one of the five that may end up being against the Pac-12 South champ, and it still has nothing but comfortable wins over the rest of its schedule.
Sure, the Huskies haven't been as statistically pleasing as they were last year, but Jake Browning is still insane. He's completing 68.5 percent of his passes and has 14 touchdowns against just three interceptions on 203 attempts. He's got an elite player with the ball in his hands in Dante Pettis, and he and Myles Gaskin continue to be amongst the best at their trade in the Pac-12 – whatever that's worth.
UCLA put away Oregon last week for its fourth win of the season. All of a sudden, though, the rest of this schedule looks and feels impossible. Jim Mora Jr. is going to have a lot of questions to answer at the end of the season if this team doesn't make a bowl game (and perhaps even if it does), but with games left at Washington, at Utah, home against Arizona State, at USC and home against Cal, there's a good chance there aren't two more wins in the bunch.
Last week's win over the Ducks finally marked the first time that the team surrounding Josh Rosen finally helped him out. Sure, the Bruins still let Royce Freeman rumble for 160 yards, but the fact that it took him 29 carries to get to that point was a real accomplishment for one of the worst defenses in America.
Normally speaking, Rosen going 21-for-36 for 266 yards and two touchdowns would result in a loss and probably a bad one at that. In this case, though, UCLA took care of business against the Quack Attack 31-14 thanks to a 17-0 second half.
170.1 – The number of rushing yards per game UCLA has been outdone by in its last nine games.
The only respite was a game against Memphis in which the Bruins were +8 yards on the ground. Aside from that, they've been in the red by at least 96 rushing yards in each of their other eight games since getting crushed by USC at the end of last season.
We all know that Rosen can play, but he's only going to be as good as the team around him allows him to be.
Gaskin is one of the best running backs in the Pac-12. Bolu Olorunfunmi and Soso Jamabo? Not so much. These two have combined for 631 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bruins. Those numbers sound respectable, but we have to remember that they're up against a defense that is allowing teams to average 303.4 rushing yards per game.

The Huskies have to figure to get back on track in this one. They're allowing just 3.7 yards per play for the season, even after the loss to Arizona State, and we can't imagine that Browning is set for another horrible game.
So long as Browning doesn't make mistakes, this UCLA defense will do the rest for U-Dub. There's no way the Huskies don't score at least 30 points in this one, and that should be enough with an elite defense to lead to an easy win at all of the best internet sportsbooks.
