Now, the Bears are in as bad of shape as they have been since that low point, while Oklahoma is back on the National Championship trail. Fortunately, this spread won't be 54.5, but it isn't exactly short at Oklahoma -25.5 either.

There's not much good to say about Baylor right now. The Bears are 0-3, complete with losses to Liberty, UTSA and Duke, the latter of which came as double digit underdogs. When you're a double digit dog to Duke three games into the season and you're a power conference team, you know that things are going wrong.
Are the Bears going to win a game this year after getting a bagel in non-conference play? We're sure they will at some point, but this surely isn't the game where anything is going to change.
Oklahoma had its moments when it seemingly toyed with Tulane. Into the third quarter, this was still a competitive game, though in the end, the Sooners put things away with gusto, 56-14.
Baker Mayfield continues to be one of the best quarterbacks in America this year. He's got 10 touchdown passes and no picks in his 82 pass attempts. Just the mere fact that he's only needed to throw the ball 82 times in three games is remarkable.
The Sooners have a glut of talent all over the field, but much of that is still really raw. Getting this season with Mayfield under center is only going to really help out guys like running back Abdul Adams (166 yards) and the team's leading receiver, tight end Mark Andrews (13 catches, 233 yards).
It's still really early in the week to determine if Anu Solomon is going to be able to play in this one or not. The Bears' quarterback suffered a concussion against UTSA and sat out the Duke game, and that left way for Zach Smith to call the shots.
Smith has been less than stellar, to say the least. He's just 13-for-36 for 279 yards this year with three touchdowns and four interceptions. That woeful 36.1 percent completion percentage is just begging to put Baylor in a position to get slaughtered by Oklahoma's defense.
We're not asking Baylor to have a chance in this game, but to cover this spread, some quarterback is going to have to complete half of his passes and take some pressure off of John Lovett and this running game.

There really isn't any justification to bet on Baylor right now, but we feel like we have to do it. This is still a conference game, and it's still a road game for Oklahoma. The Sooners can name the final score of this one if they want, but even then, there's still a sense that this offense has to come down to Earth at some point, while Baylor needs to do something against somebody of note.
Matt Rhule is a much better coach than this, but we know that he inherited a mess that Art Briles left behind. The Bears are bad, and they certainly lack a lot of talent. But especially if Solomon is able to get back in the fold, we suspect they're going to at least put a couple scores on the board, and that will be enough to get all of the best online sportsbooks paying you off.
