Buffalo Bulls: -3
Opening NCAA Football Odds from Bookmaker
There aren't many teams in America that you probably know less about in this bowl season than the Bulls. Buffalo was always thought of as the fifth or sixth best team in the MAC, and there is a decent chance that might have been the case this year. However, UB has taken some massive steps in the right direction, and it is looking for its first ever bowl win in just its second bowl battle on the NCAA football betting lines in school history.
Buffalo had a tremendous defense this year, something which we don't say a lot about when we're talking about teams from the MAC. The Bulls were always second best from that standpoint to the Bowling Green Falcons, but there is no shame in allowing 376.3 yards and 22.3 points per game in this conference.
RB Branden Oliver is definitely a man to keep an eye on as well when you look at the NCAA football gambling lines in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. He had 1,421 rushing yards and a total of 15 touchdowns, and he is going to be one of the most exciting players to watch on the first day of the bowl season.
San Diego State had a great end of the regular season, and if not for the fact that it was smacked by the UNLV Runnin' Rebels on the last day of November, it would have finished up the year in tremendous form. The Aztecs were underdogs just to make it to a bowl game, but they went on the road and beat both the San Jose State Spartans and the Hawaii Warriors as dogs, and they followed that up by beating the Boise State Broncos at home.
There aren't many teams in America which can say they have a 3,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher, a 700-yard rusher, a 1,000-yard receiver, and a 700-yard receiver, but when the dust settles on this duel on the NCAA football wagering lines, the Aztecs will probably be amongst them. QB Quinn Kaehler needs 204 yards to get to that milestone. RB Adam Muema rumbled for 1,015 yards and 12 TDs this year, while his running mate, RB Donnel Pumphrey had 750 yards and eight scores. Most of the receiving options run through WR Ezell Ruffin and WR Collin Lockett. Lockett has 49 catches for 696 yards and five trips to the end zone, while Ruffin is the team's leading receiver with 1,061 yards and three scores.
Free Pick – You're not going to find a team which wants to win a bowl game this year more than the Bulls do. They are one of the best teams in the land that you probably don't know anything about, and we think they are going to prove that the MAC was actually better this year than the Mountain West was, something that was unfathomable at the start of the season.
