Big 12 College Football Roundup Odds - Week 3

NCAAF Week 3 Odds

Week one was disappointing for the Big 12 Conference but they bounced back in Week Two with two huge non-conference wins. Oklahoma upset Ohio State in a battle of top five teams and TCU went in to Fayetteville and powered through Arkansas. Two nice statement games for the conference.

In other action, Oklahoma State crushed South Alabama, Texas, West Virginia and Kansas State all rolled to easy wins. On the downside, Iowa State lost a heartbreaker to Iowa, Kansas lost to Central Michigan and Baylor lost for the second week in a row - this time to UTSA.

B - Grade for the conference for Week Two.

All ten teams are in action this week. The biggest game involves Texas when they travel west to take on USC. Kansas State hits the road for the first time to take on Vanderbilt. Oklahoma State also hits the road to take on Pittsburgh and Oklahoma is a huge favorite at home against Tulane. Baylor, Iowa State and Kansas all play on the road, while TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia all play at home.

Texas Longhorns +15 at USC Trojans -15, Total 67

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California - 8:30 p.m., ET - FOX

The showcase game between two proud schools on primetime national TV - it’s going to be a great game. The line opened up with USC as a 17-points favorite and quickly moved to 15. Texas had trouble shutting down Mayland in week one, giving up 51 points. There is no way they can stop the Trojans. This game will be lopsided from the start. USC rolls, 49 - 27.

Other week 2 Big 12 games:

Saturday, September 16, 2017

Kansas State Wildcats -3.5 at Vanderbilt Commodores +3.5, Total 48.5

Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee - 7:30 p.m., ET - ESPNU

The Big 12 vs. SEC. Great matchup here. Home field is crucial. Kansas State played two cupcakes to start the year and now faces an improved Vanderbilt team on the road. It should be a heck of a game but I will always take the home turf and the points. Vandy wins!

Oklahoma State Cowboys -14 at Pittsburgh Panthers +14, Total 65.5

Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Noon, ET - ESPN2

Senior quarterback Mason Rudolph looks like the best quarterback in the country to me. He has a strong arm, makes smart decisions and plays with great poise and he’s ready to show the nation that he is the best. The Cowboys offense will be too much for a bruised up Panther defense. Grab this line at 14 before it moves up to 17 by game day.

Baylor Bears +14 at Duke Blue Devils -14, Total 60

Wallace Wade Stadium, Durham, North Carolina - 12:30 p.m., ET - ACCN

It can’t get any worse for the Baylor Bears. They lost to Liberty in week one and backed it up by losing to UTSA in week two - both games played at home. Now they travel to play the upstart Duke Blue Devils team that may be one of the surprise teams of the year. They whipped a good Northwestern team a week ago and now get to kick around the Bears this week. Baylor starts the year out 0 -3 - Duke crushes them. Lay the points!

Kansas Jayhawks +7.5 at Ohio Bobcats -7.5, Total 53

Peden Stadium, Athens, Ohio - Noon, ET - ESPN3

Jayhawks fans have high hopes every year but every year after three games they are checking to see when their basketball team tips off. Arguably the worst program in the nation over the past decade or so, they lost last week at home to Central Michigan and now face another MAC Conference team when they travel to Ohio to face the Bobcats who are better than the CMU squad. Ohio runs all over Kansas and wins by two touchdowns.

Iowa State Cyclones -9.5 at Akron Zips +9.5, Total 62.5

InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field, Akron, Ohio - Noon, ET - CBSN

The Cyclones gave it all they had last week but lost to Iowa in overtime. Head coach Matt Campbell appears to have Iowa State on the right path, might even have them bowling at the end of the year, but first things first. Cyclones have some issues on defense but have the better athletes and greater depth that will in the end win the game. Iowa State 41 - 28.

Tulane Green Wave +34 at Oklahoma Sooners -34, Total 57

Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, Norman, Oklahoma - 6:00 p.m., ET - FS1

The big question in this game is if the Sooners come out flat after their huge win at Ohio State last week. If they do, they will still win but not cover the spread. Tulane lost a tough one to Navy and showed that they can score some points. I’m leaning towards the OVER.

SMU Mustangs +18.5 at TCU Horned Frogs -18.5, Total 64.5

Amon G. Carter Stadium, Ft. Worth, Texas - 3:30 p.m., ET - ESPNU

These two teams used to play in the old Southwest Conference way back in the day. Plain and simple; TCU has the better players and playing at home. Horned Frogs demolish SMU, 42 - 17.

Arizona State Sun Devils +7.5 at Texas Tech Red Raiders -7.5, Total 76

Jones AT&T Stadium, Lubbock, Texas - 8:00 p.m., ET - ESPNU

I’m taking Texas Tech for one reason. They were on a bye week last week and had two weeks to prepare for an average ASU team, plus their at home. Texas Tech by two scores.

Delaware State at West Virginia Mountaineers, NO LINE

Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium, Morgantown, West Virginia - Noon, ET - FS2

West Virginia always has a few cupcakes on their schedule. They win the game easily and improve to 2 - 1 on the year.
