Auburn vs. Georgia TV Coverage: CBS
It was only a month and a half ago that Auburn was beaten by LSU after holding a 20-0 lead in Baton Rouge. At the time, the Tigers dropped to the middle of the Top 25, and they looked like they were going to need a miracle to stay in the hunt for the National Championship.
As was the case in 2013 when Auburn had everything going for it, including the schedule, it had its prayers answered once again. The Tigers were able to beat Georgia and Alabama at home, and they've ridden those victories into a position where they can win the SEC and get into the College Football Playoff.
Auburn didn't have its best offensive stuff against Alabama in the Iron Bowl, but the Crimson Tide learned the hard way just how good the Tigers were defensively. Auburn kept one of the hottest offenses in America down the whole night, including posting a shutout in the pivotal fourth quarter to ultimately win the SEC West.
Georgia is back in the SEC Championship Game after a two-year absence. The Dawgs could have watched their season go up in flames way back in the beginning of the campaign when they lost Jacob Eason. Instead, Jake Fromm stepped up and played the year of his life as a freshman.
Fromm isn't a statistical maven, having thrown for just 1,990 yards and 19 touchdowns this season. That said, when he was asked to manage games, he managed them well, getting the ball in the hands of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel as much as possible.
We're all going to have to keep a really close eye on the Auburn running back situation coming into this game. Kerryon Johnson is such an important part of this roster, and he had the game of his life against Alabama.
That said, Johnson hurt both of his shoulders in that game and couldn't finish. Now, there's a good chance that the Tigers are going to have to play this game out with Kam Martin instead. Martin is the third choice at running back behind Johnson and Kamryn Pettway, and if he's the only one of the three horsemen available, that's going to put a lot of pressure on Jarrett Stidham to throw the football time and time again against a hungry defense.

It's going to be easy to just look at this game and assume that Georgia is going to get whooped once again. The Tigers have been dominant at the point of attack over the course of the last several weeks, and their offense has been moving the ball with ease. As soon as Fromm is forced to put the ball in the air, we're going to have a very different discussion about this UGA offense.
But this game is going to be different. We have to assume that Johnson isn't going to play, and that's going to take away a huge part of what this Auburn team does offensively. We also have to remember that this game is being played at a neutral field instead of at Jordan-Hare, and we all know what traveling to Auburn can do to a team's psyche.
Georgia wasn't ready for the big time when these two teams last met. It might be now. Don't be stunned if the Bulldogs pull off this upset and swipe a spot into the College Football Playoff.
