Esports Betting Odds: CS:GO StarLadder StarSeries Season 2 Matches

Esports Lines CS:GO StarLadder StarSeries

One of the oldest competitive Esports is CS:GO and it has experienced a resurgence in the United States thanks to the success of TBS’s ELeague. Despite not having the widespread popularity of StarCraft or League of Legends, CS:GO has a core of loyal followers and veterans that make it one of the best Esports out there. This week, the StarLadder StarSeries takes place in Kiev, Ukraine and there is over $300,000 and bragging rights at stake.

CS:GO Matches

Natus Vincere -250

Astralis +200

Both these sides were upset in their first match of Group C and now square off in a loser goes home bout. Natus Vincere is seen as one of the most elite teams in Europe and that made its loss to upstarts TyLoo all the more surprising. Asian teams have dominated other Esports, but CS:GO has traditionally been controlled by European squads and a Chinese team beating Na’Vi was very unexpected.

Astralis has played well in September after a miserable stretch during August, but has struggled to get it done against top-level teams in the past. This side has really had its problems with Na’VI as well with Na’Vi winning five straight against Astralis, including a 2-0 sweep less than a month ago.

It’s going to be very difficult for Astralis to get a win here. Na’Vi has the better side and suffered a wake-up call with its loss to TyLoo. Astralis’ loss to Heroic is a bit more concerning and underlies the team’s inability to break through. GuardiaN is better than any player that Astralis has on its roster and he can carry Na’Vi to a victory. It’s true that anything can happen in just one match instead of a Best of Three, but Na”vi’s skill should pull it through.

G2 -110

FaZe -120

G2 and FaZe each had dominating performances in their first matches of Group C with each side dominating the CT side of the Train map by a margin of 13-2 and then cruising once the map flipped.

G2’s CS:GO branch is looking to follow up on the success of the League of Legends team that just won the European title. It is seen as a slight underdog here due to its struggles with quality teams like EnVyUs, Na’Vi, and FaZe last month. All three sides swept G2 in a Best of Three and sent G2 careening down the rankings on Gosu.

G2 has been in better form of late, winning against FlipSide and drawing mousesports and Fnatic in the past couple of weeks. Shox especially has been on fire and was named the MVP of G2’s win yesterday. If G2 is going to pull off the small upset here, he needs to be on his game.

FaZe has been playing better after getting demolished by Fnatic in ELeague play. The side still has issues defeating some of the top teams like NiP and Astralia, but recently drew Fnatic and beat GODSENT and VirtusPro.

It seems like FaZe should be a bigger favorite here. It has the better resume and won the last head-to-head battle between these two sides as well. However, it’s penchant for not showing up in big matches seems to precede the squad so we’re going to back G2 here under that assumption as well.

The Picks:

Natus Vincere -250

G2 -110
