College Basketball Betting – Friday Best Bets

NCAA Basketball Lines

I just might be getting out of the rut that took a huge chunk out of my bankroll leading up to tourney week. While it wasn’t the greatest of showings, I’ll take anything in the black over the horror show that went down with my best bets the previous five days. A 3-2 ATS tally moved my top suggestions to 5-3 ATS the L/2 days and there are a number of spots on Friday’s slate that got me amped about really taking it to the man! The following are my favorite sides going on the college hardwood - Let’s do this!

Bet the LSU Tigers -2 at

The two regular season matchups between these squads both went to overtime with each coming out with a win. With that, it’s safe to assume they match up well against one another. However, LSU enters the third go round the rested team after watching all of Thursday’s action while the Gators had to dispose of Arkansas to reach the quarters. The Tigers will be playing with a chip on their shoulders as well due to the Will Wade fiasco. Florida might need the win to reach the dance, but it’s not gonna get it. Lay the deuce and look for LSU to pull away late and win by margin.

Bet the South Carolina Gamecocks +8 at

Auburn ended up winning and covering against Mizzou yesterday, but the overall effort was hardly one I’d deem impressive. While the Tigers will no doubt take the floor stark raving mad looking to avenge the 80-77 defeat it incurred at South Carolina in the regular season, I’m still taking the points with Chris Silva and company. The Cocks have covered each of the L/5 in the rivalry and enter the rested team. Too many points!

Bet the Nebraska Cornhuskers +7.5 at

It’s no doubt a tough sell to back the Huskers here who will be playing their third game in as many days against a tough Wisconsin bunch that will be hitting the UC floor for the very first time, but I simply can’t overlook James Palmer continuing to put the team on his back and lead it to the promised land. Big Red’s feeling it right now. If the Badgers put an end to it, so be it. I’m taking a flier and believe Nebraska isn’t done just yet!

Bet the Iowa State Cyclones at

The Clones ended up being easy money for us at the best sportsbooks yesterday by sending the Baylor Bears to the NIT. I’m taking those winnings and putting them right back on Marial Shayok as they look to bounce top-seeded Kansas State from the festivities. The Wildcats were able to get by TCU yesterday without the services of their big man. Dean Wade’s absence will play a key role in this matchup against an ISU team that already beat them with him in the lineup in Manhattan.

Bet the Duke Blue Devils at

The Dookies should be laying points in this third go round with the Tar Heels, but I’m not exactly sure linemakers will oblige. Regardless of whether they’re dogs or not, the Blue Devils won’t be dropping a third straight to their most hated rivals. Duke looked to be a much different team with Zion back in the lineup. The kid didn’t miss a step and you know he’s gonna want to make a statement in what will be his only matchup against North Carolina while in Durham; blown out shoe debacle aside.

Bet the Washington Huskies -1.5 at

The Huskies broke my heart yesterday coming up short of covering the spread versus USC. I don’t hold grudges. Turn the page and move on. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing in this tilt against a Buffaloes squad it beat 77-70 on the road and 64-55 at home in the regular season. Mike Hopkins likely wasn’t too enthused about conceding 75 points to the Trojans so look for Matisse Thybulle and the defense to take it up a few notches in this one.

Bet the Michigan Wolverines at

Iowa put forth an impressive showing on Thursday night draining 12 of 23 3 pointers to bury Illinois 83-62 as 4.5-point favorites. The triumph snapped the team’s four-game losing streak and ended an ugly eight-game coverless streak as well. Michigan got thumped by the Hawkeyes in Iowa City in the lone regular season meeting and will no doubt be out for some retribution. If Iowa’s bigs keep this close so be it. Iowa won’t be lighting it up from deep this time around!

Bet the Oregon Ducks at

I think Dana Altman’s kids ultimately cut the nets down in this tournament on Saturday night ultimately crushing the hopes and dreams of a number of bubble teams. The Ducks are smoking red hot right now having rattled off six straight wins and pointspread covers at top rated sportsbooks after coming back to defeat Utah in the second half and holding the Utes to just 54 overall points. Oregon’s defense is going to be extremely tough for ASU to navigate against, and it will ultimately advance them into the finals where they’ll defeat U-Dub as well.

Bet the Fresno State Bulldogs at

This is going to be a fabulous matchup between Fresno State and Utah State. The teams played to a pair of thrilling results in the regular season with each logging one-point wins on their opponent’s home court. The Bulldogs have won four straight and covered four of their L/5 and have been scorching hot from deep knocking down 49 of their L/105 the L/3 games. USU is likely already in the NCAA Tournament regardless of whatever happens tonight. Fresno State isn’t. Look for the Bulldogs to make the most of the opportunity and take one step closer towards earning the auto-bid.
