ODDS TO WIN WORLD SERIES
AL FAVORITE TO BACK: Cleveland Indians +747
I get that they’re running up against the defending champs. I get that they cost MLB bettors a boatload of money over the course of the regular season. That however had much to do with them playing in the worst division in baseball and being lined enormous favorites for a bulk of the schedule. The Tribe ranked No. 3 in runs scored per game ( 5.1 ), No. 2 in batting average ( .259 ) and hit the sixth most home runs in the league ( 216 ). On top of that, its starting staff logged the most quality efforts ( 98 ) and it plays decent defense ( No. 11 ). With Kluber and Carrasco and Bauer mixed in to go along with the back end of its bullpen, the Indians aren’t being given the respect they deserve at this price point.
NL FAVORITE TO BACK: Los Angeles Dodgers +489
Dave Roberts’ squad did itself a huge solid by winning the NL West. In doing so, their World Series futures odds almost got cut in half dropping from +855 to where they currently reside. Running up against an inexperienced Atlanta Braves outfit most definitely gives them the upper hand. They’ve been here before. Heck, they went to the World Series just last year! Though Cody Bellinger and company did nothing but destroy MLB betting bankrolls in the regular season, they can make it up for you and some with a deep run this postseason. With a bevy of arms and even more bats to work with, I wouldn’t put it past them from doing just that.
AL LONGSHOT TO BACK: New York Yankees +1066
Don’t you just get the feeling that the Yankees have been lying in the weeds all season just looking to strike when the moments right? Well, that time is now! Should they find a way to get by the incredible story that is the Oakland A’s, we’ll have shares of a dog with teeth in our back pocket that could do some major damage on the grandest stage of them all. I’m not 100 percent sold on the Red Sox winning it all. I think they peaked way too early. The Bronx Bombers would love nothing more than to send them home early to force Red Sox Nation to do nothing but cry in the beer the entire offseason. Better than a 10-1 return on Giancarlo and Judge, where do I sign?
NL LONGSHOT TO BACK: Milwaukee Brewers +950
There isn’t a team in all of baseball right now playing more confidently than Craig Counsell’s Brew Crew. Instead of folding like the cheap suit they did in September last season, Milwaukee went on to see this playoff run all the way through. They put a cherry on top of the run by taking down the Chicago Cubs for the NL Central pennant in front of a disgruntled Wrigley Field crowd. This team simply has the look of a champion right now, and it’ll be awfully tough to beat in the late innings with a lead and Josh Hader on the bump. From Christian Yelich to Jesus Agular to a currently red hot Orlando Arcia, Milwaukee has the right mix of offense and defense to make a serious run at cashing in on the World Series betting lines at BookMaker.eu.
