It is time for the Florida swing on the PGA Tour beginning with this week’s Honda Classic. The field is good, but not great this week, as Tommy Fleetwood is listed as the favorite, while Brooks Koepka and Rickie Fowler are next in the betting odds. Picks

Rickie Fowler -115 vs. Brooks Koepka

There is no question that Koepka has not yet fired on all cylinders this season. He had treatment on his left knee and has simply not been great, as he has just one top 30 finish this season. Rickie is the all-time tournament earnings leader at PGA National. He has a win and a tie for 2nd in this event and two other top ten finishes. I like him in this matchup against Koepka.

Taylor Gooch -115 vs. Patrick Rodgers

Gooch has made 10 straight cuts and he tied for 10th at the Genesis. He played well in this event a year ago with a tie for 20th. Rodgers gets back to playing with the big boys after playing in Puerto Rico last week and I suspect he will get back to normal and struggle to make the cut. I will take Gooch in this matchup.

Emiliano Grillo -115 vs. Ian Poulter

Grillo finished in a tie for 3rd last week in Puerto Rico. He played well in this event two years ago with a tie for 8th. He is 9th on the PGA Tour in GIR and hitting greens is the key stat this week. I will take him in this matchup against Poulter.

Brian Harman -130 vs. Luke List

This matchup has a player in Harman who hits a lot of fairways and greens against a player in List who is known for his distance. I think Harman will be a player to watch this week, while List will probably miss the cut.

Billy Horschel -120 vs. Viktor Hovland

Horschel has played well of late with a pair of top 10 finishes. He has played well in this event with two top ten finishes since 2016. I know Hovland won last week in Puerto Rico, but I can’t see him duplicating that effort this week. I will take Horschel in this matchup.

Keith Mitchell -115 vs. Rory Sabattini

Mitchell is the defending champ and going under the radar for this event. I think he will play well again and I will take him in this matchup against Sabattini.
