Week 4 NFL Against the Public picks are ready to roll. We are coming off another excellent week, as we went 4-1 last week to move the season record to 10-5-1. A successful method of picking winners in the NFL is going against the public. One thing of note with these picks is that you are almost always better off waiting until Sunday to bet them to get the best possible NFL betting line. Let’s look at Week 4 NFL against the public picks.

Week 4 NFL Against the Public Picks

New England Patriots +6.5 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Was there any doubt as to who the public would bet in this game? Tom Brady facing his former team and Bill Belichick is must-see viewing. This line could easily go higher, as everyone is going to be on the Bucs. The Patriots have a rookie quarterback in Mac Jones and while he has had some good moments, he is still a rookie and he makes mistakes. You have to think Brady will have a big game against his former team and the Bucs are also coming off a loss. The Patriots don't have the look of a team that is going to challenge for anything this season, while the Bucs are the defending champs. Sometimes when we make these plays they are hard to do because we agree with the prevailing wisdom and that is definitely the case in this game. The Bucs look like the right side, but this column is going against the public and it works. We'll take the points with the Patriots in this contest.

New York Jets +7.5 vs. Tennessee Titans

The Jets already look like the worst team in the NFL and the public is going to be going against them on a regular basis. All of the rookie quarterbacks are struggling this season and it has been ugly at times for Zach Wilson. He is getting no help from his offensive line and there are simply not many playmakers around him. The Jets would be better served to sit Wilson and let him learn but they have thrown him into the fire and it has been rough. It could get a little better this week, as the Titans defense is nothing special. It may not matter, as the Jets defense isn't that great. This looks like a game that the Titans should win going away, but as we said in the previous game, we go against the prevailing wisdom. We'll take the Jets plus the points.

Philadelphia Eagles +6 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Did anyone see the Chiefs starting the season 1-2? It is shocking to see Kansas City with a losing record and now the Chiefs are laying points against the Eagles. The public still believes in Kansas City and they are taking them again this week. The Eagles are a decent team, but whether they can hang with the Chiefs is in question. Philadelphia has a decent defense, but the Kansas City offense is capable of exposing any defense. The key in this game will be whether or not the Philadelphia offense can take advantage of a suspect Kansas City defense. The Chiefs have been giving up a lot of points and Philadelphia does have some offensive talent. The public is all over the Chiefs this week so that means we take the Eagles plus the points.

There are only three official plays this week, but I'll list a couple of others that just missed the cut off. The other three really bad teams are close to being plays this week, but just missed out. Those teams are Jacksonville at Cincinnati, with the Jaguars getting points, Houston at Buffalo with the Texans getting big points and Detroit at Chicago with the Lions road underdogs. We won't officially track those three games but they could be worth playing.
