The Milwaukee Bucks visit the Indiana Pacers in the first ESPN game on Wednesday night, while the Los Angeles Lakers are in Denver to take on the Nuggets in the late game. The Bucks have the best record in the league, while the Pacers are battling for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Lakers have the second-best record in the league and are leading the Western Conference, while the Nuggets are battling with the Clippers for second place in the conference. Let’s look at both games and Wednesday night ESPN NBA picks.

Bucks vs. Pacers TV Coverage: ESPN
The Bucks have the top record in the league and they also have the best road mark in the league at 21-4. Milwaukee is coming off a home game on Monday against Sacramento. The Bucks lead the league in scoring at almost 120 points per game and they are 7th in the league in defense, giving up 107 points per contest.
The Bucks are expected to get a good addition to their roster when Marvin Williams signs with the team. He is getting a contract buyout with Charlotte and he is expected to join Milwaukee. He is averaging 6.7 points per game, but he is a very good 3-point shooter and he is a decent defender. He should be a valuable addition to the Bucks bench.
The Pacers will be happy to get to the NBA All-Star break. They have not played well in the past couple of weeks and they went into Monday’s game against the Nets having lost five straight. The Pacers are averaging about 109 points per game and giving up 107 per contest.
Milwaukee has won six of the last ten in this series including each of the last four games. Eight of those ten went under, including the last five. The Pacers have won six of the last ten at home in this series, with the last six going under.

The last game for teams before the All-Star break is always tricky. I lean toward Milwaukee, but I think the better bet is the total. These teams have been going under in recent meetings and I will expect that trend to continue and take this game under the total.
Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets

Lakers vs. Nuggets TV Coverage: ESPN
The Lakers are coming off a home game against Phoenix on Monday. This is not a great spot for the Lakers, as they have to make a one-game road trip just before the All-Star break. You have to wonder how focused they will be for this game. The Lakers are averaging 114 points per game and giving up 107 per contest.
The Nuggets are coming off a home game against the Spurs on Monday. Denver is averaging 110 points per game and giving up 106 per contest. Denver made some minor moves at the trading deadline that should help them going forward. They got rid of Malik Beasley, Juancho Hernangomez and Jarred Vanderbilt while adding Keita Bates-Diop and Noah Vonleh. The Nuggets also traded Shabazz Napier for Jordan McRae. Denver was also helped when Houston lost Clint Capela who has given Nikola Jokic trouble in the past.
Denver has won six of the last ten in this series, with five games going under, four going over, with one push. Denver has won 7 of the last 10 at home in this series, with six of the last ten going over the total.
Lakers vs. Nuggets Free Picks
How focused will the Lakers be for this game heading into the All-Star break? There is no doubt that Denver will be focused on this one, as they look to prove they are a threat to the Lakers for the top spot. I will take Denver plus the points on Wednesday night.
