It is a full slate of MLB action on Sunday, April 16th including the Giants at the Tigers and the Cubs at the Dodgers on MLB Network and the Rangers at the Astros on ESPN. The Mariners choked away two separate late inning leads last Sunday to cost us on our three-team parlay, but we hit our totals parlay with the Orioles and Yankees over and the Padres and Braves over. We’ll focus again on three main picks for our MLB sides parlay and two picks for an MLB totals parlay. Let’s look at Sunday, April 16th MLB Parlay picks.

Sunday MLB Parlay Picks

Cleveland Indians

The pitching matchup on Sunday heavily favors the Indians, as they have Shane Bieber on the mound, while the Nationals go with Patrick Corbin. Anytime I can get Bieber at a reasonable price on the road against a bad team I am definitely looking to take the Indians and Corbin is almost an automatic go-against anytime he is on the mound. He is 1-2 with an ERA of nearly eight this season and it hasn’t mattered whether he is at home or on the road. I’ll take the Indians as the first team in the parlay.

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox host the Orioles on Sunday and Chicago is set to send their ace, Dylan Cease to the mound, while Baltimore goes with Grayson Rodriguez. Cease has been excellent for Chicago with a 2-0 record and a 1.65 ERA. He definitely looks like a Cy Young contender this season. Rodriguez has started two games for Baltimore and has yet to get a decision, but his ERA is almost 7. This one looks like a mismatch, so I will take the Sox at home.

Houston Astros

The ESPN game has the Rangers visiting the Astros with the pitching matchup having Andrew Heaney going against Framber Valdez. The Rangers are off to a nice start this season but Heaney has not pitched well with a 1-1 record and an ERA of more than eight. On the other side, Valdez has been very good for Houston, as he comes into this game with a 1-1 record and a 1.89 ERA. This is a good matchup for the Astros, so I will take them as the final team in the MLB sides parlay.

MLB Totals Parlay

Cubs-Dodgers Under

The Cubs and Dodgers meet in their series finale on Sunday with Drew Smyly scheduled to go up against Julio Urias. At first glance, Smyly’s numbers don’t seem very good, as he is 0-1 with a 6.52 ERA, but almost all of the damage was done in his first start. He was very good last time out against Seattle, giving up just one run in five innings. Urias has been excellent for the Dodgers with a 3-0 record and a 1.50 ERA. This has all the looks of a pitching duel, so I will go under the total with the Cubs and Dodgers.

Brewers-Padres Over

The Brewers and Padres meet on Sunday and it should be Wade Miley going for Milwaukee, while San Diego sends Yu Darvish. Miley is 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA, but it has been hit and miss, as Miley was excellent against the Mets and then just so-so against the Diamondbacks. Darvish 0-1 with an ERA of nearly five. He didn’t pitch that well last time out against the Mets giving up five runs. I’ll go over the total with Milwaukee and San Diego on Sunday.
