Primera Liga Soccer Odds 2018 - BBVA La Liga Betting Predictions

La Liga Primera Betting OddsEven though the English Premier League is considered to be as good as it gets in terms of exposure in Europe, the best soccer is largely played in Spain. The 2017-18 La Liga season is down to either 12 or 13 fixtures depending upon the team, and the race at the top is a heck of a lot closer now than you'd figure that it should be.

As is usually the case, Barcelona and Real Madrid are sitting at the top of the table, and it would be hard to see any of the other 18 teams in the league finishing on top. That said, Sevilla isn't all that far behind with 56 points in 26 matches, three and a game back of Real Madrid and four back of Barcelona, and at this late juncture of the season, this is a legitimately shocking development. No one else is closer than the 49 points of Atletico Madrid, effectively putting everyone else out of the equation.

But if we assume that Sevilla, a 25 to 1 longshot at this point, is out of the fold as well, the real question is whether Barca or Real Madrid will finish on top.

There was a point that Los Blancos really looked like they had pulled away from the rest of the pack. However, Real has dropped four points in its last four matches, and that has really opened the door for Barca to get back in it. In that same span, the Catalan side has been fantastic, erasing foes with ease in La Liga.

The nod right now belongs to Real Madrid at -111, but it wouldn't be shocking if Barcelona got the job done at +105 when push comes to shove. Most will recognize that the attackers, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez makes Barca arguably the best team in the world. That said, Barca has to go on the road one more time to Real Madrid later this season, and that match could end up being decisive between the two of them. That parlayed with the fact that Real Madrid is only back a point with a match in hand is why is it has the very slight edge. Any more slips though, and Barcelona is sure to be the odds-on favorite by a comfortable margin, especially in a league where the top two teams are 18-6-2 and 18-5-2 respectively.

Primera Liga BBVA Football Information

The Primera Liga is the jewel in the crown of Spanish football and one of the most glamorous leagues in the world. La Liga is currently the second strongest league in Europe according to UEFA's league coefficient.

It's the sixth highest of any domestic professional sports league in the world and the third highest of any professional association football league, behind the German Bundesliga and English Premier League.

Spain Primera League Soccer format :

The Primera Division (La Liga) is the top level of Spanish professional football. There are a total of 20 teams and each team plays a season 38-game schedule made up of two matches against each of the other 19 teams, home and away.

As in all European football leagues, there are three points for a win, one for a tie and no points for loss. But if teams are level on points, the aggregate score between those two clubs determines the ranking before the general goal difference. If three or more teams are equal, then the combined head-to-head records of just the tied teams will be used to determine the final order of those clubs.

The team that has accrued the most points at the end of the season is declared the Primera Division champions. The top four clubs qualify for the Champions League, with the top two directly entering the group stage. The fifth and sixth placed teams and the King's Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Cup.

The 18th, 19th or 20th placed teams in the Primera Division are relegated automatically, while the top three of the Spanish Second Division are promoted. Reserve teams of the Primera clubs (called team B) may also play in the Second Division, but could not be promoted to the Spanish top flight.
